end game is; i dont need to play games, just get my trailers loaded so i can go home
Exactly! Your both working more efficiently, but the handheld tells a different story. Thats why their stupid numbers game and score card, never tells the true story. Also, Ive only seen a handful of drivers that are useless. For the most part, I look around and see most everyone busting their asses

It is Surgical with management, but to hand pick drivers some 25 year guys, some 2 year guys, at each terminal. That I don't believe will happen. That would open up a can off you know what big time, it will be like always, bottom up IMO

Handheld's definitely don't come close to telling what's really going on

What will happen to the DSR's who have a contract from the Conway driving school? If DSR positions are cut think they will spared because of the contract or not? IF there are DSR cuts the way they approach this issue could mean job or no job for me. I have 10-15 guys below me in seniority, all but maybe 2 or 3 of them are still under contract from the drivers school

My buddy out NNC heard that truck driving competition was cut. Jacobs said he wasn't paying the 500,000 counter offered with 250,000. Anyone heard anything.

Yeah, I had heard he didn't want to pay full ticket to stay in the ATA and state trucking associations.

On the one hand, that's gonna hurt for those drivers that live for the competitions.

On another hand, that'd be a big loss for all of those organizations- Con-way had to be one of the biggest contributors. It'll be interesting to see what happens if XPO did choose to drop out rather than pay up.

I participate in TDC.. Competed in the 4-axle class at nationals in 2014. It's a great experience and just plain fun..even though a lot of drivers took it way more seriously than me.

As long as my paychecks keep coming and the wage stays the same, I am very willing to let TDC go away. Some things are just more important..like providing for my family.

Con-Way, FedEx, and Walmart logistics made up the majority of participants at nationals. I guess FedEx will be the company to beat now!

Just got off the phone with a buddy of mine who works out of XKC he confirmed regional mgr Mike P. was let go, TM offered early retirement. ATM let go, and 2 FOS's let go yesterday

When you are helping a guy break a trailer and he is scanning everything what credit shows up for you, you are pushing up racks and moving plywood, drivers going to fight over who gets to scan something?
Some do. Dock workers are judged a lot on mm. Our outbound guys sign stuff on and leave it outside the door all the time. Drives me nuts and people run the stuff over causing damage. Nobody wants to hear it so I stopped talking about it. Nothing new though, been like that since the mobil sco came out.

Our manager said not to worry about motor moves. They know if your being productive or not. There will be days you have many moves and days not so many. Do a good job and let the motor moves fall where they may. We were not talking about reship.
