ODFL | The Future!

Your honest BIASED opinion -- seen from a very narrow vantage point of your job. Come talk to me when you can see the big picture and understand other people's perspectives.
Well,Everyone Mr Guru did tell me to come talk to him.Well,I did go to see him yesterday .No one was home.Maybe I need to travel a little farther.

Billy -- you got half right. Early to bed and early to rise..

So far according to you I've been a LH driver, HR guy, and CPT office villain. Care to keep guessing? 0 for 3 and counting.

Technically I guessed HR guy.....now I'm guessing management training program since you say you've done so many roles in 6 years. Even if we guess it I'm sure you won't admit.

Right...forgot it was you.

Wrong again -- but don't think it really matters. I'm just the guy next to you all pushing forward and trying to give my best effort at OD.

It's not a negative mentality to want improvement. Not that we don't have it good, because we do, but why settle. Upper management wants to squeeze every penny out of the OR even though it's already good. I want to improve in my already good job, if that makes me a whiny driver, so be it. I also want to protect the good thing we've enjoyed for the 15+ years I've been here and not watch it swirl the drain because we are so focused on profit. If that means I have a negative mentality, oh well!

My point exactly. OD use to grow at a pace nice and measured, now "they want it all right now"

I started in the LTL business 14 years ago. Since then I have always heard management say. " you have to see the big picture". Will you please tell me what the big picture is. Cause I have yet to see it.

LOL heard this way to many times. when you are standing to fall away from reality it is hard to see the small picture and that is the problem.

Maybe so -- but flip side is -- when you've only ever seen your little bubble, with you at the center of the company's universe -- it's almost impossible to to see the big picture of how things work.

K maybe you are on the kool aid and I'm not
You're bleeding too much green like a line driver that isn't effected by the daily bull the rest of us deal with because all they do is hold a steering wheel with no real challenges to face in their entire day.

Billy 3.0 folks...he does it all. Everyone else just holds wheels, clicks a mouse, presses buttons, and makes life harder for the "real employees"
