I am looking to switch jobs in the next couple months. I am working now over the road and not happy with that. I have been told that OD offers home daily type schedules. Maybe even local peddle type stuff if the pay is good and they can keep me busy. I am open to both. If anyone could give me some feedback that would be cool. I just hope you all start hiring soon. Not real happy here.

Do linehaul only. OD doesn't care about the back breaking labor their city drivers do with all these residentials and when you hurt yourself, you will be terminated eventually.

Depends on the terminal, but most hiring done in the spring,Local P&D or Linehaul pay pretty well here, P&D is going to pay somewhere between 45k to 65k(at top pay rate) yearly, and linehaul is going to pay from mid 50k to 100k+(also at top scale) yearly. Last I checked most of our city crew were still walking upright and without the aid of walkers, backbraces and canes.Think above poster needs a good nights rest...

And making way more than that for sure.

Stick to what you know, the best spots to stop and take a 30 at. You haven't done city in years if you even have. Doubt you could handle a day doing it.

Lexington- beware of wolves in sheeps clothing, otherwise a great place to work!

Wildcat your scaring me a little by that statement because I don't know what it means. Sounds like i want to steer clear of local work . I actually live between Louisville and Lexington. It's about the same both directions with less traffic in my opinion to Lexington. Should I try Louisville instead? Not looking to make a worse choice. Appreciate the follow up by all. I read lots of good things about OD and just want to make sure it is what it appears. Rough starting over anywhere but even worse if management is an issue. Been there and done that with nothing to show for it.

Go to LOU. The terminal is crappy but it's on the list for replacing. Great manager, couldn't ask for a better guy.

Billy I worked P&D long before you could ride a bike, and have zero doubt I'm physically in good enough shape to outwork your malcontented ass..
Don't even bother DD... I've found the people who complain the most, usually do the least. They have nothing to offer and only make it harder for the people around them. They'll tell you how hard they work and everyone else has it so easy. They'll show you their manifest with 20 stops, but forget to tell you 10 of them are duplicate drops. I'm guessing this was a response to the great BillyLo, your description fits his profile. Complain about line getting back late, not realizing where waiting for the freight he has on his trailer while he takes a smoke break after stop, and talked for 15 at every stop, then takes 20 minutes at his favorite gas station to take a dump and get a Snickers bar. Then has to get fuel before he drops his pup not to mention chit chatting with his bros comparing who's day was harder and how many 4 wheelers cut him off.
Sad thing is most our P&D and line do work hard but the ones who talk about the "good ole days" and refuse to accept change are the ones dragging us down. This job hasn't changed in 50 years. Service the customer and treat others with respect and it's a great place to work, no matter what path you choose.

Then get in the city and prove it. Don't do no good talking on the CB all day like that.

If you haven't found anything yet you may want to stop in the Lexington terminal. I know a guy that works there and he says the terminal has a new manager that is great to work with.

Wasn't saying that management was the problem just stating what the driver told me. But if management isn't the problem why don't you take your problems to him to be addressed.
