XPO | Truckload

they're keeping it because the bids arent high enough. i'll bet one bid was from matty mouroun, he owns alot of trucking companies with central transport being the biggest. his sister owns pam transportation. he also has enough money to buy it too. going from conway to xpo and finally c.t. lmao. and you think you're getting screwed now, you havent seen anything yet. the LTL will eventually be sold, jacobs is waiting for the magic number.

Saw this on FB earlier today.

Wow had enough where to u get all this inside info. Do u work directly with Jacobs seems like no body knows any of this but u, being as smart as u think u are surprised your not CEO of ups.
Yeah, Jacobs wants the LTL so bad that he was taking bids to dump it. Before that he only wanted Menlo and had no interest in the LTL. Now all the sudden he wants it. Lmao. Better wear a bib while drinking the :heykoolaid: dallasj. I'm not the CEO of UPS, but I stayed at a holiday inn last night :1sm364jumpbed:

Amazing!

I find the wording in that Qualcomm message callous and tone deaf. Glad I don't work there anymore.
I talk to Truckload drivers on a regular basis at one of the customers I go to. The driver I spoke with today seemed optimistic about the honesty of Jacobs change of plans but wanted ZERO to do with intermodal. He was looking forward to the conference call and liked that "more or less , Jacobs has kept his word."

Well the last I know is the bids for truckload were unsolicited and if they were looking to sell TL then no one offered the magic number. If I bought this company, Con-way, for 3 billion and 4 month later someone offered me 5billion I would say SOLD. and no one here would say otherwise

No he didn't "take" bids. He was honest about the entire issue and said in one of the articles that he had three UNSOLICITED offers. Which means that Truckload wasn't up for sale, but three groups was interested anyway.
However......for the right price, I'd sell just about anything.
:greedy dollars:

Jacobs has stated that he needs a trucking company because lots of potential customers won't do business witha logistics company. They want to deal with a trucking company. They are afraid their freight won't get moved on time if you don't have any equipment. And I doubt he would start rebranding trucks if he was going to sell it. He does not seem to like wasting money.

I started this thread because somewhere I read that XPO wants to change our operations and I thought truckload and LTL will probably work together more. It did say in the interview with Jacobs that it's going to take till 2017 when we see changes. He said its going to take that long because he wants to make sure it is done correctly

I never thought he would sell truckload. One thing about Jacobs is he seems to be out among the people all the time. Most CEO's seem to stay at the office away from the workers.

When I worked for truckload I always thought Con-way freight could have leveraged us in their business model much better. There were tons of opportunities in drop shipments and with Menlo that could have involved all 3 units of the business.
