Hi guys how is everyone doing this Sunday?
I'm doing pretty good. Yesterday I went down to Kentucky to do some business. My brother bought a car that I owned and was getting ready to sell off. He lives in a town in Kentucky right over the Ohio River just outside of Cincinnati right off the highway anyhow I don't see him all that much, but anyhow he wanted to buy this car from me which was good, because I didn't need it anymore and his current car works alright, but it's getting older and was ready to be replaced. The car he used to drive was my mom's old car it's been in our family about 9 years now.
So I headed down to see him and along the way I spotted some of our friends on the road, I saw a couple Old Dominion line haul trucks pulling doubles on Interstate 71 heading north and south bound. A couple Conway/XPO trucks also on I-71. Does Conway run a Saturday night linehaul? They must because I saw a set Saturday night heading south towards Columbus. I saw a Schneider truck pulling a set of YRC doubles. I saw a good amount of R&L carrier trucks because I drove by R&L's main office and terminal in Wilmington, Ohio.
Anyhow saw a couple Sysco Cleveland trucks down in Columbus working on I-71 they were either heading back north or out running routes hard to say. Also saw quite a few trucks for Melton Truck Lines I don't see Melton to, much here in the north, however I do see them quite a bit on 71 heading south towards Columbus, Ohio. I know they have a terminal outside of Youngstown, Ohio.
Saw about 5 MBM trucks heading back to Columbus, where the warehouse is, I thought about that and said MBM wouldn't be bad if I could get a route that is not in the city ha-ha like doing Hardee's and Arby's at the truck stops. However what probably happens is you stop at one of the truck stops make a delivery then head straight into the big city.
Oh oh oh how could I forget? I thought I saw @Banker at a rest stop on I-71 there was a big high gloss red Peterbuilt resting at a state rest stop on I-71 near Morrow county.
Anyhow made it to Kentucky and made it to the apartment complex where my brother lives. We then went and visited some loan sharks who agreed to notarize my title because his girl friend I guess has a car loan through these people, so they notarized our title other then that they wouldn't have, but we didn't have to worry about that.
Anyhow so we ate lunch at Texas Road House which that must be a huge account for SYGMA, because that places is always packed even in the middle of the afternoon when it's not even lunch time. You know how that goes they sell good steak and have huge barrels of peanuts and have pretty waitresses so you know that's all a major recipe for success. Gosh trying to deliver all those sacks of peanuts to Texas Road House. There bill from SYGMA at Texas Road House must be outrageous all those expensive peanuts and all that expensive steak and meat and there buying such large quantities. No wonder those 48' trailers weigh out. Those loads must be worth a fortune.
Where my brother lives they have a lot of cookie cutter chain places. Much more then around where I live. They have Frisch Big Boy and United Diary Farmers (Actually I love United Dairy Farmers they have the best milk shakes by far we actually have a few UDF's in Cleveland, but they are based out of Cincinnati and pretty popular down south) We have Penn Station in Cleveland, but they have all kinds of chains we don't have up north like Chili I don't know what the fascination with Chili is down around Cincinnati where it's a million degrees in the summertime. I took home a pizza from some place called the Snappy Tomato, personally it was pretty average mall food court grade really. A lot if not most of our independents in Cleveland are way better then all the chain restaurants in Cincinnati. Personally besides Domino's once in a while I don't consume to much from chain restaurants. Actually if I lived down there I would consider working for Frisch Big Boy I don't know why, but I would they have there own private fleet and all:
