So what's the word on new trucks? Saw the equipment budget is huge. Have heard a big number of shiny new ones expected at my barn, but haven't heard of any sighted. I'm also always interested in what they will buy to offset what Freightliner can't produce for us.

PDX had a boatload being redistributed or more like they keep them and send the rest of the terminals their junk.

I'm hoping we look to other manufacturers, like KW or Mack to produce what Freightliner can't or won't... I have no idea why Freightliner would lay off 900 folks in Cleveland NC if we were going to buy a ::shit:: ton of new equipment...

Saftey meeting yesterday at har we were told that the new ones will be coming soon no word on make but to be 225 #### so not sure if new manufacturer or out of other #'s

Was told by driver yesterday that we are getting 3 Freightliner City Tractors. The city style that FedX ,XPO has.Im thinking the ones that have no fairings on them.Again, the layoffs at Freightliner is normal. This year was more than normal because of the over hire they did the past couple years They will be called back when it picks up.Noticed last month we had a couple International Twin Screw Sleepers. They were white has always

The little ones FedEx have are 8 speed transmissions. They turn on a dime. If you run a congested area I'd snag one up.

225####, sound like something other than Freightliner/Volvo.
225xxxx 2-two axle 2-(not seen this number used here) 5- freightliner
2nd number 0= city only 1 = linehaul only way back in the 90's 4 = combo city and linehaul 2 or 3 might be a box truck

Never seen city only power out here in SAC.235 is bobtail (or box or hoopy) and 285 is I think some kind of triples power.

Got a 2nd wave of 16s a month or so ago.Got some middle of last year.Part of the reason we have fewer old trucks is so much line power (and drivers) between SAC and CIC.That and the rule in California for bigger fleets having newer trucks.

We got a couple of new 17's in ATL... There's a couple in STL sitting by dispatch that haven't been used yet, and they've sat there a couple of weeks. Must be waiting on permits.
