Yellow | Outsourcing to India?

I know it's a little off topic, but has anyone heard any rumors about that guy who came over from Conway that's suppose to be the best in the industry at saving money by routing trucks more efficiently? I am talking about the guy that YRC is getting sued over by Conway.

Yes. Like 5 years ago.
No, they are not out sourcing to India for customer service, BUT they have about 400 (maybe even more) "Inside Sales" reps in the Phillapins which we are finding in customer service that they are being "allowed" to do way too much of our work. We (customer service) are screaming about this but so far, we are being told they are here to stay. They are doing a lot of work via email which is a good thing because when one of our customers actually speaks to someone there, they are not impressed. They are not trained well and make so many mistakes that we are constantly fixing. This is just plain wrong. If they want to save money in customer service they would give us a system that works and gives accurate information and is quicker to use. Our system is a dinosaur. It takes so long and so many screens to get what the customer needs that wastes so much valuable time and then you can't always trust the system to give your the right info.

Chet Richardson... The news article I read said he had saved CW millions of empty miles until their sales people started overloading the wrong lanes with freight discounted heavily creating imbalance, and additional empty miles. Maybe that was enough for him to leave?

one of the customer service people in St..Louis told me some of the sales are being handled in the philipinies she reffered to it as first contact sales she said it's keeping them busy with complaints. Causing lots of problems.

Yes, and YRCW has been looking into bringing in Driver's from overseas , like Swift & Fed Ex & other ones do , as they can't get nobody to apply , and maybe as soon as this summer !!! because as you notice most OTR driver's are foreign overseas driver's in sandals & flipflops , so it is the way of the future for YRCW if they want to move freight !!! as these will be their only options for driver's !!!
