Estes | Parking all the Volvo's

I'm hearing it's on the steering column. Heard something about a very serious accident with one of the Nashville drivers. Dunno for sure what the deal is. I just put this thread out there thinking someone might know something. Definitely a recall though. They're not letting any Volvo's out the gate at my barn regardless which terminal they're from

If they are 3 axle send them west, will take anything. We are hurting on line haul for 3 axle big time.Last year we got couple kenworths, but frame is too long for triples, so many passover trailers that are going west, south , north we can't scale on single axle :regretful:

We've got a bunch of Volvos at my barn. It's going to suck for a while. Wonder how long this recall is going to take.
Not sure but I've heard about the accident then the recall was within hours. I googled it and "nothing"
Not sure if Volvo is ready for the recall. Hopefully the rental companies have plenty of extras. It's hard enough to stay my truck as it is now.

Just googled it and found some info. A steering shaft bolt may have been insufficiently tightened when assembled causing the shaft to separate and driver to lose all control of steering. Trucks were manufactured between May and November 2015.

Good deal, at least it don't sound like anything time consuming. Hopefully they'll get them back on the road.

I thought they just did a company wide campaign on those bolts, mine was tightened and marked with yellow paint to make sure it wasn't backing out. Has anyone heard of our drivers wrecking?

YRC has an informative thread on it. Given the seriousness of the matter it would be prudent to stop all of those right where they are until they are fixed.

I don't understand why they keep buying the long wheel base Kenworths. They are no good in the city , with a lot of the yards as tight as they are, I just wonder what they are thinking.

Did they ever flip the DEF tanks over to the drivers side.. That was the stupidest thing I ever seen in my years of driving... Only at Estes

Yeah. They were on the passenger side just that first year.

All of our Volvos are back on the road... Except mine. I think mine got lost somewhere.
