XPO | Amazon - What will their next move be?

looks like amazon is getting closer to getting it's own logistics network. Could xpo be acquired by them as some kind of piece of what they're gonna do in transportation in the future? Just speculating. http://finance.yahoo.com/news/evidence-clear-amazon-already-next-140506700.html
well how about this:amazon wants to be their own "ups/fed-ex" they can do it cheaper if its all in house and they will need the freight brought to them by a 3rd party(xpo) untill they can get all the drivers,trucks,equipment,etc.....

YEP ! coming from a good rumor source, the pay package will come out when the rebranding is done and everyone has their new uniforms. Wonder what the name will be?

USPS made fed ex what they are now by handing off the parcels to them back in the day and focusing on just the letters.

I've actually saw one these Amazon Prime trailers being pulled. I don't think the tractor said Amazon though. I'm curious who is pulling them though because someone is right now.

I saw 3 of them this morning on my way back from my run, was the first ones I've seen and with in 20 minutes I seen all three, every trailer was being pulled by a different company, none of which I had heard of before??

Walmart runs add on XM radio all the time talking about $80 + your first year. We had a guy leave and say he loves it working there
It's not all roses, They have a pecking order too, you start working weekends for several years and things are not as they used to be years ago, it has gotten worse over there. They work more hrs than we do on line haul for less money. 34 hrs off no more and back to driving, 10 hrs off no more and back to driving . That's what the walmart drivers i've talked to said .

No dock work. And most Wal-marts are easy to find. The guys that have gone wish they had sooner. Guess it depends on what you were expecting.

That is not true at all. I have been a Walmart driver for over 3 years. You will always have a full 2+ days off (depending on when you get off on your last day). The only exception is if you are running a shift that would allow you to extend your week when it is busy. I can't do that, as I run a 6/2. I always have 2+ days off, and sometimes it is closer to 3. With my 6/2, my days off rotate so I often have weekend days off, or the whole weekend.

You are the captain of your own ship. You determine if you want to get rolling as soon as you can or not. You determine when the end of your day is. You determine if driving conditions are too dangerous. They respect your decisions, as you are the ones out there.

Of course there is seniority (they call it longevity), as there should be. However, due to an older average age of driver, there are also a lot of retirements that have happened, and are going to be happening.

You are treated like a valued part of the team. What you say actually means something, and suggestions from drivers is where much of the changes come from. They care if you are happy, and actually want to hear the good and the bad. To be treated with respect, as a driver, is something that most never experience.

Sorry for replying. It is just the rumor and innuendo about Walmart drivers can get a bit ridiculous sometimes.

Oh, if Amazon creates their own Private Fleet, they would do well to learn from how Walmart has done it.

It's supposedly the inspiration and model for the concept.
