What would be the benefit to trying to get on the saftey crew at my local barn? No extra money? Any info is appreciated.

I have been on the safety crew in past and no big deal , and got off it because there way of silly thinking on how to spend money or NOT spend money , like painting lines in parking lot full of pot holes, but wouldn't fix pot holes ?? it's gets frustrating because they argue with you on everything and say it's not a safety issue if it costs money and if its not the companies idea !!
