It would appear as lunch theft is a issues at one of the barns I run into. I wonder if this is actually a fireable offense or just a scare tactic.

At XDE someone kept stealing sandwiches. A Driver put fish hooks in the middle of A sandwich . It wasnt hard to figure out who the thief was.. A short time later (not sure how long) the guy who was the thief died in a wreck or was hurt real bad. Maybe an XDE driver has more knowledge of the facts... I just wrote what I heard.

At a previous job one guy had his wife make a cake filled with ex-lax because some kept stealing whole lunch from everybody. Within 2 days we all knew who was doing it because one day he stole the wrong lunch and spent half the day in the can. Needless to say he wasn't employed there much longer after that.

That's like the best example of greed biting someone, quite literally in the ass!! If you're hungry and poor, ask me. I'll share my lunch with you. But don't take it.
 
If you get caught stealing, you should take the walk. It's happened here. And they fired the guy.

What do you tell your family ? Not the truth, I hope. Fired for eating other peoples lunch. Just stupid.
 
If you're dumb enough to throw away a $100000 a year job over a $3 sandwich , I feel sorry for your family .

We had an XSD driver eating fundraiser subs that other DSR's paid for at our FAC , He said he thought they were for everyone even though they had names written on them in marker . They didn't fire him for that but did terminate him a couple months later for not reporting an accident at the same FAC.
 
Before I drove truck there was a guy at the train yard doing this, he wouldn't steal PB&J sandwiches so everyone but one guy brought PB&J the guy that didn't brought cold cut with a little dip spit . No more stolen lunches
