VP in Salt Lake yesterday shared some new equipment plans with a group of drivers yesterday. In 2015 we got 810 new tractors, 1,110 new trailers and 5 new yard mules. In 2016 we've gotten 100 new tractors with 300 more coming this year, 550 trailers with 1,425 more coming and 100 new forklifts with 150 more coming. I think there was mention of more new yard mules but my Ute friend didn't write down the number...the only disclaimer on the new equipment yet to be delivered was we have to keep making some money. Seems like pretty good news to me......we need it.
 
I wonder how long it will take for someone to trash the company for spending on new equipment when they have not gotten their 15% back yet. I think everyone should be happy they are at least seeing a move in the right direction. Keep up the good work guys and gals.

It's been doom and gloom for so long that that's what we expect.

Contentment is not hard to find with those who were fortunate enough to work through the best of years for their respective pension funds and to be out of the game as it descends into the abyss. For those not so fortunate I believe it is another story...

I like 2000 new trailers a year. We sure could make a dent in the retireable trailer pool at that rate. Now we just gotta take good care of them and make them last as long as we have the junk they will replace.

I don't know about that man. I mean Yrc, Yellow/Roadway getting 20+ years out of some trailers and over 10 with the tractors?
Just mantain them better than you do now and everything will be peachy-keen!!!

YRC has 30K trailers. 2K new trailers/year would replenish our line fleet in less than 10 years. You may have missed my point?
 
Wasn't that equipment divided up between all of YRC's holdings not just YRC. I can't remember the last time I saw a new Trailer at our YRC terminal. I have seen a few new tractors.
 
Embrace the new.......soon it will become the old.

Seeing several new pups at 326. 133847, 133919, several 134...series
 
Kills me when I see these rustbucket trailers with holes in the roofs. Yet they sold off nice trailers for next to nothing .The CRISTINAS SMILES trailer comes to mind. Never seen any freight till it was sent out west to be sold. Nice trailers sold rags kept ?
