Anybody else having issues with this?

It's absolutely rampant around here.

Granted, it's always been to some degree, but they've never been as blatant about it as now.
 
Our afternoon guy will punishes you with swaps. Some driver text done. They are in and out no extra work. Other we have to swing by and get freight way out of the way. Then send you down a swap to do. End up with a 12 day. Sticks it to you if you fill up and he has nobody to pick up in your area. Guy was a driver before. Has got away with a whole lot. Took a Tractor and Trailer home so he would not have to come to the barn in the AM Customers freight was on the Trailer for a Sat Delivery. Got away with that. Has got into a verbal argument with every driver. Been on the Corp hot seat many times. Would have you drive miles out of the way to redirect freight with wrong address. Company lost a lot of money. Tells customer just ask the driver this driver will help you get it the house. You walk up to the door and they know your name. Your now telling the customer he lied to you we don't do this. Will now your on the late swap for this. His buds do 8 and out. Yeah we get it everyday and upper management knows he acts this way. He is protected

File a grievance. Oh wait, no Union. Either deal with by documenting every event and calling HR or go work elsewhere.
 
I happens at union shops too and to varying degrees at different terminals. Joes bar and grill is right on the money on how it goes though. I could sit and write a book on it all. It would be too much for us to show up on time, do our jobs and be treated fair and with respect.

Always a Union guy trying throw a dig. LOL I make 4.50 ruffly more then the top pay of all union barns but UPS. I stay here because of no union. I did forget to mention all is well here because the HR depart along with the top guy in the area put a stop to it, No union dues to deal with. Sometimes things move slowly. But all things come to an end. I always love it when I am working and a union guy will ask whats top pay at RL Then he will always say ::shit:: we are not even over 21.00. RL hiring but not sure if they will hire a Union driver. All we have to deal with now is the Dispatcher is just mess when we are swamped with freight. That is all the time. Can't have everything.

I'm not nor have I ever been in a union. I would vote one in now though.
 
The supervision at Roadway in the eighties and nineties was constant. What they required in the city was unrelenting. I did not like the city dispatcher and she did not like me. But I found that if I got the freight off, she would leave me alone and let me do my job.

I was a Teamster and lost two jobs do to both going under Associated Transport (AT) We merged with Eastern Transport Lasted a few years and we went under. Out of Philadelphia Pa. One of the biggest LTL Northeast Sank like a rock after the Strike in the 70's And then Consolidate Freight. Never again union. I would ask USF Redway how the union is working for them.I been around a long time. I enjoy driving. I can retire at anytime. I still like what I am doing. And I stand correct on assuming you were a union driver.
 
I dealt with what I called not enough drivers type of manipulation. I said to a driver years back dude they are working me 12 hours a day. He said make it an easy 12. I'm not working 12z now but it could happen occasionally.
