Yellow | Comdata cards

I was told the sleeper drivers would keep theirs but single man runs may not. That was a couple of weeks ago, haven't heard any more since.
They have stopped all pay for entire refueling. Have to file pay request. I can't imagine how much it will start costing for down time and vendors bring to fuel up tractors. I thought we were servicing expedited freight. Maske

En route refueling

Ok then if a driver needs fuel en route for whatever the reason how does he get it without a card?
Here's the problem. Unit leaves a break going with a Hub driver. (Say 211-158-211) Unit should be fueled full at 211. That way there will be no reason to worry about fuel until the next day's return to 211. Now add a via (158-111-211) or the city using the unit for P&D and now you will need fuel. Problem is there is no fuel at 158, (Fuel truck 3 times a week) So what's a driver to do?
Yea, I know, The city should not use the tractor, Got it. But how is that the Road Drivers fault? But he's the one stuck with the problem. Hence the fuel card.
I guess the answer is to run out of fuel and let a vendor make big bucks on YRC's tab. Unless they wanna pay drivers to sit at 211 waiting for someone to fuel a damn truck.
Again, How is this the Road Mans fault? But he's ripping the company off with delay time for en route fueling?

DUH!!!!!!!

One of you company men out in Overland Park watching this site gotta answer for this? Love to hear it!

What's a driver to do? Definitely not stress, that's for sure. Once long ago when a TM at a via terminal wouldn't give me petty cash for a bridge toll I would need I just drove up to the bridge, pulled over to the shoulder called central dispatch and told them what happened. Guess who had to drive out to me with cash for the toll? Never get yourself stressed over stuff like that. :smile new:

And never run out of fuel in the winter.

I remember none of them had a fuel guage when I was there in "77 to "83 air guage speedo and warning lights that was all nothing more "nuff said time for the weekend stay safe
I am guessing roadway did not put fuel gauges in the trucks then because it saved them money ,and deemed them unnecessary because they wanted them fueled at every bb. With me, it was kind of a psychological thing. Always kept you checking the fuel during your pretrip to make sure you had enough.

Oh I don't. (And by the way I've done that bridge thing!) It just baffles me how management will cut a tree down because of a dead branch.
