So l jump in my truck and theres a camera system installed called "mobileye"....
Anybody familer with this set-up? Like what are the capabilities and what does it do besides what they tell us it does,,Does it record and store data to be downloaded and viewed later?.Is this an "enforcement" tool or just a "vehicle collision safety" system ?

yea, yea, yea,l understand what it's "stated" features are.I'm just wondering if there are "other" capabilities NOT mention that it does to burn you later? .ie,can it audio record in the cab or suppose l just drove it to the point of making all the bells & ringers sing all night.Excuse me if this has been discussed before, l have not recieve any training on this..

Yes anything you do or say can and will be used against you.

I've not heard of anyone getting "burnt", got a letter from the union when they first announced it and said that if they try to use anything related to the mobile eye against us, to notify the hall. I can tell you it a waste of $6,000.00 per truck in that over 1/2 the trucks they've been put in do not work, or work when they get and ready to work.

I didn't know YRC had a truck that was worth 6000.

They have been in the New Penn trucks for awhile the only BS issue is that they are cheaply installed and tend to come away from the dash. Our barn is trying to issue letters for "damaging company property" saying that if you don't write it up that something is wrong with it and the next guy in the truck writes it up your responsible. We are waiting to hear from the Union.
They easily come away from the mount and can break hitting the floor or shifter. Ours have no listening or tracking apps installed. YET

you have mobileye in a YRC truck? I was told the LYTX cameras were all we would have and Holland would have Mobileye.

We have Lytx and you should go to the websitehttp://www.lytx.com/our-solutions/activevision
http://www.lytx.com/our-solutions/activevision
and view the videos. The inside camera is disabled however "The lens records sounds". Ok now big deal right? Well scenario, you are breaking policy such as talking on a cell and have a record-able event. The camera will record the previous 8-10 seconds and the next 4. This event ranges from running a stop sign to a accident. This will be uploaded to the LYTX servers and forwarded to the company. Since they hear you talking on the cell or listening to a radio cb, etc you are know fired. How are you going to explain talking to other people while driving? Think about it you ow have to use the last 4 digits to log on the handhelds so they have created a digital trail. Evidence soo if you have a accident that causes injuries, you get fired the company blames you since you where breaking company policy "distracted driving". Its just a matter of time folks till we see posters at the terminals showing ex employees and there punishment like the workers comp posters.http://w.lytx.com/resource-center/video-center

Be careful talking on your cell phone in a YRC truck anyway Anytime you are involved in a truck accident involving injuries, it is common practice for the attorneys involved to subpoena your cell phone records with the intent of seeing if you were talking on the phone at the time of the accident Irregardless of whether you have a camera on board or not
