He's the new age freight guy, we cantankerous old fossils need to move on and let them have it all. It's time for us to belly up to the bar at Banko's and talk about the good ol' days. Clams and:guiness: go well together. And the Coal Bin has good wings. Not to forget that there are big Muskies to be caught.

I'm just ready for any Abf proposal towards a different type of retirement besides the broke cspf.

Why Hello there, Rollin62.. ....long time no heard from.........Action must be slow on the XPO board.........

And why would you be ready for a different type of retirement at ABF? Won't affect you...........you're over at ConXPO......or XCons Inc.........or whatever your new French/Chinese owners have decided to call you...........How's the retirement over there? Wait,...........don't tell us........they're going to give each one of you a three pound gold brick when you retire............or some similar scheme.........

Is that a new paper bag you're sporting? Looks like bigger ventilation holes........which is good because we don't want you to hyperventilate anymore.........

Causes brain damage,........but you probably know that..........

Not to worry .the guys with four or five weeks vacation that are coming up close to retirement will save the day for the corporation. a yes vote will help the company compete with the non unions .....(still waiting for the influx of new freight ). Or maybe they can buy another logistics company and bleed us out a little faster. Someone let me know how much revenue we make on a u-pack shipment. The rumor is that u-pack gets the gold mine and freight gets the shaft.

No doubt, we can't have that stuff contributing to us minions getting some kind of bonus.

I don't know about the rest of you guys, but in the last two weeks, we've handled about 12 U Packs , which..........for a 10 man terminal,.....deliver and fetch,.....is almost a full time job for one guy.

Kind of funny because their justification for pulling out our Cube trailer was that this area didn't have enough U Pack revenue to warrant having a Cube trailer.

We cover a 4 county area in W. Pa. Terminals to the left and right of us still have their Cube trailers. You mean to tell us that there are no Cubes coming into this area? Yeah,.....right....

Anyone have any idea how they are hiding/shipping Cubes? All I need to do is spot one, and it's an instant Article 32 grievance........

In years past a rise in U Pack trailers always had a concurrent rise in Cubes, too.

Now,.....all we have is trailers.......I'd love to find out how they're handling the Cube business in our area......... Camouflage?.....Hiding them in rental trailers?.......Unloading them and reloading them into PODS?

Boy I'd love to know........

Sorry Brother but I can't join you in a fight to keep that 43' trailer with the axles fixed at the rear to drag into areas designed for horses and buggies. If you really want to know order yourself up a cube and see what you get.

They tell the customers that they don't offer that service to that area. They don't have a problem with that and I have had them tell customers in our area that by mistake.

Now not to be THAT guy ... Honestly just telling you .... We did that many trailers in one day at our peak during move out from the university that we covered with our 5 man terminal. 4 Peddle guys and one UE. So basically 4 guys lol. Plus one of those guys did 18 cubes on the old 2 cube load-your-dock-lift-on-the-back trailers. He would pick up two and bring them to a freindly customer in that town and load em on pups there. String them and have line haul come get them at the customer...He was an animal at it.... It was brutal....All of us did over 14 hours that day and didn't do much else. We did leave pickups sitting but not as much as we had feared when the dust had settled. We were handsomely rewarded with a closed terminal about a year and a half later.

Rollback trucks that haul cars are delivering many of are cubes. Even with a 43'trailer. Not enough men.

Like rugrunner said the only way they are getting them to a location is by rollback, as for where there storing them is anyone's guess. I would tell your fellow drivers to keep a eye out for cubes & if you see one question how it got there....

Can't imagine why not...we're one of the lowest-paid LTL's, no vacation for two years with a second week not coming until the seventh year. Hell...you'd think they'd be lining up to work here!
