Holland | No more assigned trucks

But then again if senior men leave with vacation time and everything else it works out for holland to replace them with rookies at bottom pay and no paid time off.
That can backfire also though, it is them old guys that are almost ready to retire that will be the easiest YES votes in 2019. They will usually take anything that is offered just to get those last couple years in. And yes I know that they will all deny it they will all say they always vote NO.....sure!

Replace them with who???? They cant beg people to work here. We had a kid start here last week straight out of driving school. He was working the outbound dock and asked the guy training him when the shift was done. When he said when the work was done and NOT on your 8th hour, the kid disappeared and never returned. This company best keep who they have happy or they are in a world of hurt much sooner than they are ready to be.

That's not happening. Period end of rumor..

It's not the end of assigned tractors, but on the open board, you can lose your tractor for almost any reason, at any time, that's a fact. This is something bid drivers don't have to worry about generally, but it affects us all.

And with the condition of the spare tractors we have, which still make up a large percentage of the fleet, we are Sanford and Son LTL.

This company did absolutely nothing regarding equipment for years, and that negates the half assed effort they are making with the new "leased" equipment now. And let's not fool ourselves, the "new leased" equipment, was only brought in to appease the DOT. And it's all on our -15% dime.

Holland assigns tractors to line haul drivers as part of the agreement to not have ABC dispatch. If they were to do away with assigned units, then we can retire our 7 day suitcases.

NMFA is ABA dispatch. You must be on your way home by the second dispatch.

Scott Cooper tried that same "We never had assigned trucks here" BS with me almost 20 yrs ago. Tell Jim at Central to blow it out his @ss. It's all part of the intimidation game they've been playing since I hired in under the '94 contract.

Gotta be a wise guy here. Ask if the office has assigned desks? Why? Is that your cube? Maybe on next break or waiting on a load plop down at any random desk. Its not assigned. no assigned truck, no assigned break area. See how that goes
