Funny how we have a shop with a truck wash in Springfield and we aren't doing any of this. Like you said, pretty sad looking stuff if you ask me. We had a mechanic quit recently and they are not allowed to replace him. That one less mechanic has screwed up everyone else's schedule. Now the shop will be locked up tight, literally, every day from 1:30-3:00pm with nobody there. Won't affect me on linehaul, but I'm sure someone will need something at that time, smh.
I've always said that the shinier the wheels are, the less the driver gets paid. (Not in all cases, but it's accurate most of the time.) A set of shiny wheels and chrome all over doesn't pay any of my bills. I do want my equipment to look respectable.......but just keep my wheels rolling and that paycheck from bouncing, and life will be good.
And where are Tony Brooks and Bradley Jacobs? They sure seem to have went to a low profile.More offensive to most drivers is that we have not seen a new allotment of tractors this year. We are racking up the miles on some of these trucks.

Really??? Not impressed in the least. For those of you that have yet to see what the rebranding looks like, well here ya go.
Why? Plain yes, but does it really matter?Really??? Not impressed in the least.
Like I said before, hopefully the nice new white stickers will fade. I think we are just trying to save a few bucks on this massive project. Somehow I don't think that savings will trickle down to us?Really??? Not impressed in the least.
Yes it will, in the form of new equipment and work. I do think the rebrand shown above is heads above the other carriers out there who have merged in my life time of trucking. Why spend way to much on an old trailer, just to trade it in, in a year or so. I think you all will do just fine. Five years from now you will have all new and shiny equipment.Like I said before, hopefully the nice new white stickers will fade. It's okay , I'm sure it's just venting. There was a lot of build up to the rebranding so the expectation was for fast and smooth. Some of you guys are complaining an awful lot. Would you rather they cut your pay and send all the trailers back to Road Systems to be rebuilt just so they look shiny?
FedEx is still running trailers that you can see the old AF lettering bleached into the side of the trailer. A coat of paint would just flake off in 6 months.
There's a new road unit behind our shop branded XPO. First one I've seenMore offensive to most drivers is that we have not seen a new allotment of tractors this year. We are racking up the miles on some of these trucks.
A 2017? If so , great. There's a new road unit behind our shop branded XPO. First one I've seen
I assumed, I did not get close enough to read the unit#. Still had plastic on the seats thoughA 2017? If so , great.
I have no clue what the upper management will do in regards to tractor purchases , but it FEELS like there has been a change since Con-way became XPO. After all , buying tractors is a huge capital expenditure , I can see why XPO would alter the purchase schedules - especially if they look around at the competition , our fleet looks pretty decent. Even the old Sterlings.I assumed, I did not get close enough to read the unit#. Still had plastic on the seats though
Seen a brand new road truck at XDM last week..the unit number was xxx-5xxx. A 2015?...These trucks were ordered by Con-way and sat at the factory for months waiting for the right color decals. So I was told by a mechanic.A 2017? If so , great.
