XPO | Rebranding ramping up shortly.

Last mile or final mile is a general term for that type of business. It's just like less-than-truckload. However, I think that JB Hunt's Last Mile business is the last mile between the rail yards and the warehouses. Ours is between the appliance warehouse and your home.
In NJ JB does true last mile Del.They have a fleet of NON CDL straight trucks doing appliance home install deliveries. Apparently they do in other parts of the country. JB Hunts trucks at the rail yard JBI on the door ( I is for intermodal)

I looked at the manufacturer plate and the 33' trailer is indeed brand new. Original manufacture date is 2016.

One of the first rebranded trailers came thru our barn. It does look terrible. On the back door, there's one large sticker applied, and it's torn at each joint, and it's peeling off the door. There's going to be partial XPO stickers laying on the highway.

A rebranded trailer came in on inbound and I gave the backdoor a closer look. The decal is already peeling/cracking at the joints. It looks like a decal might look after several years of wear and tear...not 2 weeks.

JB last mile that I know does appliance deliveries mainly for Whirlpool. That from the warehouse to the customer home to include install.

Then when it flies off and sticks to the cars windshield that behind the truck the lawsuit will start to fly

Talked to a management guy the other day and he confirmed the talk out there in LTL XPO land that the re-branding has indeed been suspended till they investigate and find out why the xpo logos are cracking, peeling, etc. Stay tuned !!!
Many moons ago when FedEx bought American Freightways the rear door on the AF trailer were red. I dropped my van I pulled every day in the same door it was red on Friday night when I left and Monday morning was white with a FedEx logo on it. Over the weekend a company came in and didn't paint the door they replaced it with a new one. They found it was more cost efficient to tear off the red door and install a new white door with all the logos the only they had to add was the trailer number and placards. The door was not new but as they went along they kept the best door panels and repainted then and did swaps over the weekend. It was nice to have a smooth good operating door and in the process a lot of tel door got fixed. Also there stickers stay on and didn't peal or crack.

This was not done with all AF trailers, nor all of Viking's blues. Some were painted, and it shows. That being said, I was a road driver at FXF so I can only speak for the pups. In my experience, only pups that break a door get a replacement.

All they did those to were the trls that stayed at the terminal. I just know my van and a few others were replaced.
I will say one thing FedEx didn't drag there feet like this place is on the rebranding

Maybe it's cause XPO doesn't have nearly the budget that Fdx has for such projects as re-branding.. From other posts on this issue of re-branding...it was said that the reason the logos are coming off, cracking, etc., is cause they are made from inferior materials. Remember, BJ want to take costs out of this company and or get projects,( i.e. re-branding), done on the cheap. Consequently...the re-branding has been put on hold till they figure it out and perhaps realize that they've got to spend a little more in order to get a quality job on the re-branding.
Let's hope that they get it right soon. I hate seeing mixed branded combinations going down the road.

It has been a few days since my last update on the rebranding I have noticed. I just spent a week in and around Indiana. I not only noticed the traffic is extremely heavy on ! 70 most of the time day and nite. I did notice tons of Conway XPO units. Again I noticed that the company seems to be mixing up the units, new and rebranded. Most sets had a least one XPO trailer. If there is a concern of the units looking bad, that is not really the case to the public going up and down the highway. I know you are all excited to be seeing the completion of the rebranding but it seems to be getting down rather quick compared to other companies that have been bought or sold. What I did notice more in Indiana that Ohio is the huge number of XPO logistics Straight trucks and large ones at that and the Last mile vans. I do not know much about last mile, but I also saw a JB Hunt with a decal of LAST mile on it. Does XPO own LAST mile or did I just dream that one up? Good Luck to you all, I seems as thought things are plugging along good. :1036316054:

It's going to be a while until I pull my first full XPO set. I have pulled two XPO trailers and at one time had a XPO dolly but yet to drive a XPO tractor or get all four pieces for the complete set. Would be sweet if someone manages it if they would post the pic or a video of it.

I know that it's a daunting task to re-brand that much equipment.....but dang, that combo looks awful.
Oh well, as long as your checks don't bounce it's all good.

They're the best tractors we have. Unlike the Freightliners, the Sterlings start every day.

When my Freightliner doesn't start they give me another one. Sometimes it'll start and I don't get 20 miles down the road and I gotta turn back. Had one turn to ::shit:: as soon as I got to 60 mph. It was great in the yard and out to the freeway and then straight to code red. All the lights. Crazy noises. Called line haul. Called the terminal. Limped back. Got a different Freightliner. A/C. Sat radio. Comfy chair. Just a different number. And got paid the extra miles and the extra hook and didn't get to the FAC until 0330. Just in time to catch loads the other way. It's all good.

All shop locations, and several key fac's around the nation will be doing the rebranding. Large tents are being set up, lifts are being dropped off, decals starting to arrive. Not sure on the specifics on how they will get other barns equipment to these sites. Outside vendor. Was told 8 months to get everything done.

Soooooooooooo what's the latest on the re-branding? Are we still being held up w/ decal issues?
The rate that this project is going...BJ will be lucky to finish rebranding our equipment in about another year or two at the earliest.
