So, interviewed with fedex freight a few months back and ended up not working out but the manager said apply at the next position I see. Well that popped up and the job is driver apprentice. I applied and have a interview set for Monday.

Currently I'm a beer driver. I work 4days a week working about 40-45 hours a week which is awesome. Inscurence sucks, moving up in the company was something I wanted to do but the more I see the company the less I want too. I don't mind being a delivery driver here but don't want to retire here. I make a good living though. Bringing home around $1300 every two weeks.

I think the driver apprentice program would be perfect for me. I drive a side bay so the training would be awesome.

Would it be a good move to FxF for me?

The transition from beer truck to freight is a good move. I, along with about a dozen other drivers have come from beer trucks and about another half dozen from soda trucks. I know of no one that would go back. Better long term outlook for you if you can make it past the slow times and working the dock. Best of luck to you in what ever you decide.

The pay will be better, I don't know what insurance you have now but ours sucks also. We are self insured and have no Co pay.the company gives you $700 and then all cost are on you until you reach your deductible then it's 70/30 or 80/20. As far as retiring here not many do. Our so called pension is worse than our health insurance and all you have is 401k. Good luck.

If moving up (within a company) is something you want, there is certainly potential here.

The key in making your decision is that apprentice program. Anytime you can get paid to learn anything, jump on that. :1036316054:

I know road drivers bringing home around 1300 a week take home. And don't do anything but hold a wheel and collect delay. F*** humping beer all day that sounds like actual work lol.
