Yellow | YRC is complete insanity

What makes you think the guy installing the cameras knows more about it then you do?
I'm sure they filled him in on why we need 2 sets of cameras. Like I said we already had cameras that covers the entire facility with the exception of the bathrooms, but now they're installing new ones right along side the ones we already had

Most cameras now work with the Internet. Cameras on my house can be viewed on my teleivision or any Mobile device from anywhere I am. New penn has cameras that record and can also be veiwed on any pc when managment uses their log in.
Maybe they are upgrading the existing cameras ? And the installer meant cameras that corporate can see as well ?

Jamie & James are watching you !!

Cameras were in Yellows Indy break room about 2005. TM would be sitting at home, 2am Sunday morning, and call the Shift Super and remind him that the buzzer rang and more cards got dealt.
Twenty-eight years with Roadway, and I never saw a camera until we were merged onto a Yellow dock.

Holland Memphis has camera coverage of ever square inch of their 20 acres including dock, break rooms and office. They can zoom the camera in as close as needed. Our cameras are tied in to the TM's office and home office.
they call the nerve center "the oracle" @ 135.:funky:sez so right on the door. I guess one would need the key maker to gain access.

I never saw one of them fly, nor a 'maintenance of standards' grievance either. Have you had any success with it?

Oh I see where this is going, just throw your hands up. I realize this is a different time and Jimmy Jr. has no back bone. So If video is not an issue then why even mention it?

I guess that the answer to your suggestion is, "no, never seen it fly there either", I didn't think so. That 'past practice' thing is nothing more than a B/A's excuse when he doesn't want to do anything about a problem and it's applicability is very, very limited for either side to argue. I took the issue of 'more cameras' as another waste of money while the workers are getting gutted.

I have never worked for the pig or any company that used video cameras or recording devices because the NMFA prohibited them. However I am not a puss and don't make excuses to NOT file a grievance as some on Trucking Boards do. If my Local or BA is ignoring me, I will send a Returned Receipt Requested letter. That gets their attention and they will answer me. I know because I have done it!

However to answer your question directly, No I have never filed a grievance on cameras, but bet your ass if they were at my barn, I would be banging on the door of the Local about what the next step needed to be, not whining like a broken record on TB. All Locals have an archive with past grievances, won and lost. Those past grievance can be used to support a past practice grievance. Any Union Steward has access to them. If I was not a Steward, you can bet I would be camped on my Stewards front step until he or she helped me get the information I needed.

My whole life I have observed members that like to ka-bitch but do not want to take action, because they don't want the boss to view them as a bad guy. Grow a pair, get educated, and get moving. That's has always worked for me. If you don't want the boss nit-picking you because you filed a grievance, then follow the rules and don't do anything worthy of a letter.
