Amazingly, we have guys coming through our terminal distributing Hoffa material......

Seriously?........after that **** of a contract,......the farce about uniforms........the grievances lost over hard holidays.......the expansion of purchased transportation.......the contractual ability to jam a non-Union carrier onto our docks and take away our work,.as long as "everyone's working"........Hell,....they can't HIRE anyone because of the pay and vacation schedule......OF COURSE everyone's working......working 10 - 12,...…...or even 14 ....hours a day.......

In the past two and a half years since the "rat"ification of the contract , our little terminal has hired 5 guys........and 3 of them quit within a year.....

4 of our guys, including me......are over 62 and can go any day.......4 of the rest of the guys are in their 50's,..........and we have 2 guys in their 40's.......the "future" of this company.........and one is hurt long term....

This is hilarious.........and the company's response is to expand the UE run to 5 days and 58 hours......

And the new-hires are sulking because they have to work the dock.......... They're Truck drivers , By Gum! Not dock workers......

And when you tell them that when you started, you worked the dock for 5 years straight,....because you were happy to have the work........they tell you: " That was then, this is now........That was you, this is me...."

I've come to the conclusion that trucking is a series of rude coincidences and desperate chances, designed by Rube Goldberg, and run by Alfred E. Neumann...........

Great place to open up an insane asylum,.....or home for the Criminally Discontent...........

If upper management would knock about 40 stories off of that Ivory Tower they're living in.........they might discover that their business model for hiring people worked great back in the 20th century,.....or even the 19th..........but breathing that thin, rarified air way high up there might be like hyperventilating,....... it's affected their thought processes to where they don't realize we're in the 21st Century......

Speaking of the 19th Century,.......how long will it take them to realize that paying your employees less than the non-Union companies is a sure-fire way to keep new employees from cluttering up your business?

Keep working the old "horses" to death......or disgust......Who needs new-hires?
 
Hoffa and crew were in my neck of the woods yesterday,they stopped at the UPS trailer shop and some other barns, visited a strike line for a glass company that's out on strike (not teamsters) BUT him and KEVIN MOORE didn't stop at out carhaul terminal to say HI wonder why ????? oh yeah I remember now IT'S BECAUSE WE DON'T HAVE A CONTRACT YET 13 months 2 no votes and nothing but we are going to, have talks in the near future. HI JIMMY have a nice trip hope you don't fall
