I heard a rumor second hand from a driver I never met before, but he talked like a pretty straight shooter. He told me that two terminals and he thought one of them was Columbus had all of their slip seat runs taken away with the new bids and switched to lay downs. I was just curious if anyone heard anything on the topic. At my barn we had two runs switched from slip seats to lay downs, I don't know if this is a trend for the future?

Yep it's true charlotte had a lot of their big run changed to laydowns

Cut Times ??? With shortage of help on dock and city and nobody will apply ,there is no way of making any cut times , it has about a 2 hour window of when the cut time is daily !! Bottom line is NO Help ,so freight can't move on time !!

I might be really giving the company a lot of credit here, but don't you think they must have based this decision to go to more lay downs than slips on numbers over the last months showing the freight gets to the end terminal quicker than when done on a slip? I also stated earlier that we had two slips switched to lay downs, just like Toledo they are now two turns with a slip on Friday. I guess Friday cut times are not real important?

Friday never is important them when concerning road drivers. If slip man calls in and no one to cover the other slip man is gonna hold for bid and becomes extra Sunday run open board man and freight still makes service.
