Amen. This is not freight that should've been moved by a pallet jack. If you don't have a freight dock and you're moving a massive piece of equipment for your business, come get it yourself.

Back in my peddle days I made the consignee sign for the freight first before we had to do stupid things to get it delivered. I have refused to make deliveries as well because it wasn't safe. This is just a perfect example of everyone dropping the ball driver, carrier and customer.

This is all on the driver and since the driver represents R&L .. You know the company that picks up this type of freight they should be accountable. I would have never delivered that under those circumstances for SAIA. I would have strapped it to my trailer wall and said pick it up at the dock or make other arrangements with the terminal. I would have simply refused to deliver it. Case closed.
