I wonder what will happen to Terminator Tim?
Except for the 200 mill loss.It never made sense for a company that made it's money booking loads, to keep Truckload. They finally got the price they wanted. And not at all surprised that it's a Canadian fleet. Likely Transforce were looking for lanes direct to Mexico. Win - win for both companies here.
I looked at their website..... looks like they are the canadian xpo .. LOLTransforce has been buying trucking companies left and right up here.
Very similar. Heavy hauler Mullen transport is another force up here. Both have been snapping up as many as possible.I looked at their website..... looks like they are the canadian xpo .. LOL
Or not !"Mr. Jacobs said XPO will retain Con-way’s core less-than-truckload business as part of its broad portfolio of logistics businesses. XPO still aims to be a “one-stop shop” for shippers, but will focus on market segments where the company has a significant lead on competitors, he said."
-"Until strategies change."
That's what the piece said...TransForce is a big player in the acquisition strategy of scaling up their business. They must be reading JB's play book.Transforce has been buying trucking companies left and right up here.
Get a huge bonus. This was likely a special project for him. To make Truckload more appealing for sale.
Doubt it. They need to make money and pay off debt. Not acquire more debt.I am hearing rumors that XPO want's to purchase another LTL company???? Who it is, well that would be classified information at this point.
I agree, that doesn't make sense to me . The network is already nation wide and Canada, so what strategic advantage would buying another headache be ??? But that's what Brad Jacobs seems to thrive on.Doubt it. They need to make money and pay off debt. Not acquire more debt.
CON-WAY pad a big price for CFI , they took enoulf pay and benefits away from employees over the years to cover it , example 5% wage reduction , during the great ression , one week of vacation just to name a few things.Except for the 200 mill loss.
Don't forget the freezing of the pension in 2006. That was the really big benefit that they took from us.CON-WAY pad a big price for CFI , they took enoulf pay and benefits away from employees over the years to cover it , example 5% wage reduction , during the great ression , one week of vacation just to name a few things.
