Averitt | Rumor Mill, Let's hear it !

Anyone heard that if corporate request your cell phone records and you decline that it's an automatic 3 day suspension? I'm assuming that this is in the case of an accident..... now I know how to get time off :)

They can request all they want....last I heard Averitt is NOT in the Law Enforcement food chain! When they pay for my phone and service...have at it!

They'll never get a hold of mine. I knew there was a way to get freebie days off. If law enforcement asks for it they can see it, only if they obtain a warrant first. Averitt doesn't have that power.

I brought it up a month or so ago about the cameras, didn't truckload get a message this week announcing that they had already been installed in select trucks? This is the heads up that they are coming, just like with the e-log, select trucks then the fleet

Got the message.....while I was sitting in CHA this week.....SCREW IT. Put them system in all the NEWBIE GOOBERS they are hiring! GOOD GRIEF...I was waiting on a load some GOOBER was loading for me in GOOBERTUCKY to take to Fla...Got the msg on what trl it was loaded on, on Thursday 1520hr...which means he sent his loaded Mac3....220 miles away.....so I figuire 1930-2000 hrs...at 2000 hrs I sent night shift a msg asking where this guy is at I get one back saying NAS on 10 brk????ETA to CHA 0900 FRI...WAIT WHAT!!!!?...GOOBER show up at 0930 Fri.....44500 lbs load, I ask didn't anyone tell you I was waiting on the load???? GOOBER's reply was yeah so what! BY THIS TIME I'm smoking HOT in 15 degree weather!..18+ hrs to go 220 miles.....the rest off the story pizzez me off to go any further...from what I'm seeing out of 100 drivers AVRT is hiring, probably 10% are worth a damn! GOOBER LOSER'S

Rumor has it with the shuttle system going to paperless logs- all routes/runs will be planned on a 10 hour clock. That could be approximately a 300 mile per week cut or more to some. You figure a run that pays 660 a night may have to get cut back to 550 depending on swap points. That's not cool to cut the pay when they could have turned the trucks up. They turned up OTL trucks.....

We were told only runs over 10.5 hours are being restructured.

I will let you guys know, I have the only 10.5 schedule in Knx. I'm also hearing several rumors of pay raise, vacation and personal days spoken of in a recent meeting with drivers, plus a massive across the board increase in work force. Sounds like a dream come true, we shall see.

We have not had a shuttle meeting in years at nor, so they have told us nothing. I would think nor and ful runs would be less than 10.5 because of the gridlock of rush hour traffic in the Atl.

Looking for a new job what would a driver make the first year? How long you stay out? And where would the bottom guy run at?

I hope that the things CM mention are on the horizon. My two cents is that the company should turn up SHUTTLE trucks and most of the switching of hours and runs wouldn't be necessary. They should ask the other carriers why they turn their trucks up. The fuel cost i bet would be lower than what the pay and benefits for extra employees

I enjoy having a truck that will run the Texas Speed limit...in some places 85 mph. I don't miss AE at all.
Keep Calm and truck on....in the slow lane.

I'm happy for the 20 year guys who get the extra vac time but come on big red, that leaves a lot of frustration in your 19 year and younger associates. Nothing this year for the rest of us
