Not making excuses for Hoffa but before December 2014 the only one allowed to make changes to our pension fund and payouts was the government. They decided we was overfunded at some point and raised retirement payouts by almost double and made 25 and out and 30 and out knowing full well our membership in these funds were plummeting. Pretty obvious it's the government that forced this to me. Just my opinion
That's what they don't understand Sac that the goverment had all the control of it for years and did NOTHING to stop the bleeding.I know we lost a lot of companies that weren't forced to pay when they went belly up cause we were on the end of the pecking order to be paid. This has been said so many time now and people still don't get it. And NO I'm not a Hoffa supporter. "nuff said enjoy the weekend and stay safe

Papa what did the forensic audit find? Did it find wrong doing that will lead to recovery of funds for CSPF?
The Forensic audit has not been completed yet to the best of my knowledge. Probably will not be completed before this summer. When the official reports come out they will be released.

Papa the PBGC is assisting over 60 bankrupt multi employer pension funds. Why do the fighters think they can convince congress to use borrowed or tax payer money to pay full CSPF pensions?
A lot is going on right now. First we have to wait for the investigation to be completed. You have to do things with order.

Papa, in previous post you mentioned the reason congress hasn't done anything with CSPF is their focus on The United Mine Workers pension fund. Papa, can you give the forum an update on the effort to save the UMWA pension fund? Since the plan to save the UMWA pension fund is to use funds from the Mine Reclamation Fund. How do the non-union miners feel about not getting a paid pension from the Mine Reclamation Fund?

Papa I don't think you understood the question! In the past congress didn't bail out 60 plus pension funds! Why do the fighters think they will bail out CSPF.
You have to wait for the investigation to end. That's when we will know what direction we need to pursue....

Papa, The United Mine Workers pension plan was the only pension plan with a snow balls chance in hell of being bailed out. This was with a democrat president and both houses of congress, with a filibuster proof senate for 2 years. Now that trump is president " VOTED IN BY ANGRY WHITE MEN WITH NO PENSION" I think it is time for the fighters to come to grips with reality. From this point forward all efforts by the government, unions and union companies will be staying in business, keeping PBGC solvent and not stealing current workers retirement benefits. Bernie Sanders and The Pension Rights group know CSPF will never be bailed out. Their end game is a National Pension ( an enhanced social security ) and a single payer health care system. If you are for that, fight for it. But please quit thinking you are so special that you think you can get congress to pay you more than the PBGC insured amount. Sixty multi employer plans have already gone broke. No bail out for them!!! The only thing special about CSPF is it will BANKRUPT the insurance company.

Partly from past & present corruption,& less contributions.
