Hear they only start you out at 45 cpm then you have to rely on other stuff to make a decent paycheck like drop/hook & layover pay.

First of all the starting mileage pay is not .45 cpm. When I first went to walmart I was concerned about the starting pay. Once I got a few checks under my belt I really like the pay package. I cant disclose my exact pay but im very very very happy.

I know someone there and yes it's .45 cpm, when you guys claim you're making 60-70cpm it's because you're factoring your d/h's and layover pay into the equation. If we did this in linehaul we could say we all make over 80cpm.

I work at Walmart right now as a driver. I have the starting pay info right now. The starting pay is NOT .45 cpm. I'm not telling you info from somebody else. I am a Walmart driver the starting mileage pay was readjusted 2 years ago nationwide. Tell your friend to ask for the new pay info from his or her home terminal.

It was 44 and increased to 45 when you guys got the wage increase. Maybe it varies in different parts of the country. Again this is strictly mileage pay before drop book and layovers are added. Spoke to him about it again and he will make 46 after one year.

Still says it's a decent job.

I will ask again when I get back to my home terminal to see if other areas starting pay is different. I didn't start at .45 cpm when I first got hired. I'm not adding any layover or activity pay. Just strictly mileage and I have a pay package printout with the starting pay for new drivers and it's not showing .45 cpm. I currently drive for Walmart when we got the pay increase to attract new drivers it was not .45 cpm. But it is a great company to drive for.
