I can see self reliance isn't something you're good at. Why should someone who's never received a pension be forced to pay for yours? Where in the Constitution does it guarantee someone health insurance? Why should someone be forced to join an organization that they disagree with because it's morally bankrupt?
The Constitution was written before "health insurance" was conceived.....so .....,Constitutionally,........we should not have any?
I believe the final TARP payment to bail out banks.......700 billion of taxpayer dollars....is bring paid out this week. They were too big to allow to fail,.,,....so you and I ponyed up whether we wanted to or not. If pension funds fail......,..due to the actions of banks,....... certainty not because of any action by the people involved in the fund....... wouldn't that set off a string of catastrophic events leading to more people on welfare and Social Security?
Would you consider a government that takes your money and gives it to the wealthiest institutions in this nation to reward risky business practices,...........to be a morally bankrupt institution?
I believe it's "Government for the people, by the people".........so that would make people more important than say.....business, wouldn't it?.
Unfortunately many people are enthralled with the phony jingoistic false "patriotism" espoused today by media bought and paid for by big business.......to convince people that stuff like "self-reliance" is a noble attribute..
Self -reliance means you're all alone.......separated from each other.......so big business can cut you up piecemeal.
Why do you think they hate Unions? Because of the power in a group of people that can stand up to rapacious businesses.
Being in a Union is a First Amendment right........one of those things you're supposed to be defending with the Second Amendment. Unions also didn't exist when the Constitution was written.....but through the years, our "right of peaceful assembly" and freedom of Association......has been interpreted as a Constitutionally protected right........ Henry Clay Frick, richest man in the world in the 1890's..,...tried to outlaw Unions. Couldn't.........
So, when that big business owned media starts telling you that "Unions are morally bankrupt"...........they really want you to quit belonging and be "self-reliant"..........
They can always steamroll over an individual...
They sure seem to be afraid of Unions....given all the time and effort they put into telling working people how "bad" they are.....
