Holland | Voting

Was in CI on Friday and heard a LH driver saying that ONLY 1/4 of the ballots had been returned. Now it's a little too late to send it in. Should Hoffa get Re-Elected (and chances are he will), those that didn't return a ballot, don't even need to open their mouth!
How could anybody possibly know this....sounds like a driver just guessing by what he heard his buddies say. Unless somehow people have access to the ballots that are suppose to be protected from tampering somewhere?

The lady I heard it from said that came from the international where the ballots are mailed to. Even though they don't look at em, I'm sure they can tell how many have came in. Let's get serious here, they mailout 2.5 million and only have a 1/4 of the stack they mailed out, they gives you an idea. I'm sure there aren't 5 or 10 ballots in one envelope

hes up on hoffa by over a thousand votes and they arent even done with the central vote. he has something like 64% of the votes counted in the central region which is big.
Hoffa couldn't even win his dad's local, that should tell you something , like maybe we as the membership have finally woken up,and by the way , I hope it's a teamster that's driving the prison transport bus, giving the boys a ride to their new homes ,

It's not looking good in the west, Hoffa up by four thousand right now and you know he will win huge in Canada....not looking real good at the moment. I am so embarrassed and ashamed of my brothers and sisters in my local, 12.3 percent felt it was important enough to vote. That is such a sad number I can't believe it, I guess I thought I worked with a better group of people than that. That's one out of eight, I would expect those kinds of numbers from college kids or inner city people on welfare or something like that in an election but from hard working Teamsters....WOW!

Can't fix stupid, we tried with what we had to work with

Non voting like this is why the Teamsters is just about gone the company's know there know back bone anymore in the workers sad sad day it is for working brothers and sisters that care.
Hope all the non voters are happy , as I'm sure the non voters will be the first ones complaining ,I didn't realize how misinformed I was about the candidates though , what is going in this union that is so good that didn't warrant a change , now get ready to spend teamster monies to defend these guy's , which I'm sure will reach into the 5-6 million dollar range , pretty sad ,knowing that they are already broke

I voted in every Teamster election since direct secret ballots cast by members instead of hand picked delegates chosen by Local bosses. In every one of those elections the voter turnout was no higher than 32% in 1991. Subsequent elections were a pathetic 28% in 1996, 28% in 1998, 25% in 2001, 25% in 2006 and 20% in 2011. Why would this pattern change now? We are our own worst enemies. The 1st thing I always asked a driver or dockman who was bitching about the corrupt Teamster bosses was "Did you vote in the last Teamster election?" If that person said "No" I told him to "Shutup, if you didn't vote, you have no right to an opinion. You are part of the problem." Apathy, ignorance and being too lazy to send in a ballot (no stamp required) are what keeps crooks like Hoffa, Hall and their cronies in their high paying "jobs" screwing the Teamster membership. Hoffa knows it and laughs all the way to the bank while retirees have their "guaranteed" pensions stolen.

excfman is exactly correct. The so called "brothers and sisters" of this union who are pissing and moaning the loudest are probably the one's that did not "bother" to send in their ballot. Too much trouble.....even the postage is free.
Hoffa and his corrupt pals love it.
