ABF | IBT results

It looks like SLC is going Zuck but not by a wide margin, he's losing ground and right now he's ahead by 2000 votes. I hope those Canadians are tired of Hoffa's huff and puff style of leadership.

Fred Zuckerman's concession message was very noble and upbeat. So sad to see so many working people tricked again.......

And for those that voted for Hoffa because you were "promised" something.......well,..... you're living proof that the world's oldest occupation is still thriving....,.

We can only hope that those charges filed against Hall get legs.......and starts to grow in scope.

Right about now the employers are lighting big cigars and patting each other on the back...

Duped again!

And....... let's not forget the two-thirds of our members who couldn't be bothered to vote.....

All the vituperation in the world couldn't do justice to the amount of disgust I feel toward them......not hate........you can't hate someone too stupid to realize he's being hated......drooling, dumb mouth-breathing, pointy-headed, shoelace-untied, buck-toothed, squanderous squid-faced illegitimate sons of syphlitic monkeys that they are......,

The politicians see these results, too........and now they'll be even more confident that pushing through a national Right To Work law as quickly as possible will be a breeze. .....

Hey! The Kardashians and Honey Boo-boo are on TV!............

It will be those same two-thirds crying their eyes out when ::shit:: starts hitting the fan and things get worse for us. This was our chance to change things and try to get things back on track to the way it once was. Think the BS is bad now? It is going to get worse. And I for one will not be bothered to hear one bit of crying or complaining. Don't blame the company, don't blame the Union... If you did not bother to vote, then you need to look in the mirror and point the finger at yourself.

In Hoffas mind and his followers, he had over a million supporters, confident to not vote, he was their man, would rather not have voting process. this was a landslide in his favor and his supporters. the voting in of Zuckerman vp candidates will have no bearing..its up to us to vote no on contracts, demand strike votes at appropriate times, hold our local presidents accountable at meetings. abf negotiations will begin in a few months.

Hoffa sucks, Teamsters suck...what to do?

Put our heads down, put our shoulders to it, and keep on fighting........ That's what us Teamsters who believe in the idea of Labor rights will do, Brother..........

Didn't Canada secede from the U.S?

What, in living hell......did the Canadians see in Hoffa and his cronies?

Parlez vous criminale'?

Saying Teamsters suck is a little harsh. Our Union needs work. Choosing to purchase a card, take an oath and then say they suck is a pretty bad line to cross. It is however our rights to be disgusted with its direction..I am a Teamster, proud of the work I do, respect those who fought for where we got to. disgusted it has been torn down and taken advantage of. I believe it can be strong again. but I don't suck.

but I don't suck.
I was not referring to the rank and file, I was referring to the organization, those at the top. They suck, they suck hard and if you think you can fix them God bless you and good luck, I see any efforts as futile and I don't fight fights that I know I cannot win.

I have been a Teamster for many years & I can't understand why a member won't take the time to open an envelope, mark the ballot & then put it in the mail. What could be more simple? When someone complains about something in the IBT I ask if the complainer bothered to vote. I may not vote for the candidate most of you do but I have respect for those who exercise their right to vote.

Instead of laziness, I think it's a sense of resignation that no matter how you vote........it just won't matter...

And,.....if you feel that way........then the weasels won, and you're not even a second-class citizen..... you're just a dupe to be used..

You must vote,.......if for no other reason than to show the employers, and all the others that look at the demographics,........that the membership is at least engaged in what's going on.

When they see 84%of our members not voting, then they figure we are only 16%as strong as we think we are......and here comes the crappy contracts and management doing whatever they want.

This election was the first serious challenge to Hoffa in 17 years.....He barely squeaked through,......and IRB charges are pending on Hall......

Maybe,....just maybe, ...he'll have that wake-up call and realize that if he doesn't radically change the way the IBT. treats it's members,......his "legacy" will be as one of the larger human turds to preside over the collapse of organized Labor.

I pretty much knew that Hoffa would win but that would not deter me from voting, I believe it is laziness, apathy as it were. It is the way it is. Most do not pay attention and do not care...until it affects them...it is what it is. As for Hoffa? All he is aware of is that he won, he doesn't even know that America does not want him, nor does he care, he won and that's all that matters to him. He went out and had a $1000 celebratory dinner complete with a middle shelf bottle of wine. And in his mind he held :fingure: up for you and me. Trust me, I'm good on these things.

I have it really first hand and I stated it earlier, the majority of Hoffa people don't vote. its an ego driven, we got this, we shouldn't have to vote attitude. it is that not have elections attitude. the other portion of this is guys who are only union because the want a job for the wage, benefits, not because they want to belong. which is increasingly growing. our Conway, fedex , imports, sick of it there, go over here. sad... corrupt, crooked at the top, good ole boy network..

I know you've had a lot of personal experience with the "good ol' boys" .......and their idea of ""justice"......And... your gut feeling about Hoffa and his $1000 dinner is probably spot on......

Still... although the outcome is highly disappointing, we've got to look for whatever bright spot we can find in this manure pile of an election. One of my sons now has a number of years in this Union........for his sake we've got to keep on fighting, even if it's Local election by Local election..

One of the interesting sidelines is going to see how Mr. Trump and Mr. Hoffa "interface" with each other,...... especially given Mr. Trump's animosity toward Unions , and Mr. Pence's penchant for National Right to Work laws...... Interesting , ....except for the fact that we'll be the "pawns" in that chess game.......
