Yes,and that is why you get paid very well to do the job.Your pretrip that you perform is just the beginning of a SAFE trip.
Has nothing to do with pay, has everything to do with being professional. A driver should never find a tire like this on a pre trip. This should have been taken care of on a post trip. Stop leaving crap like this for someone else to deal with!!Yes,and that is why you get paid very well to do the job.
alot of east coast shops wont change that because it has tread on one side have had shops refuse to change them like that beforethat tire actually looks pretty good compaired to the ones I would find before I left OD. Had one in our meet yard in Oregon that han no tread on it all and was split like that. Sad thing was it had 2 new tires on the left side but what really bad that trailer came from Morristown like that. Second one was even worse than the first one it had the steel belts showing on it and it came from Harrisburg, so how many drivers pulled those trailers before I got the opportunity? also both were on the right side. In case guys didnt know, pre and post trip inspections include the right side. And its not just line haul but our local guys in SEA have a problem with this also. Had a line driver pick a trailer from the dock going to Cali and when he did his pretrip there ist was, a totally bald tire on the right side..OUTSIDE even. Maybe Billylo the professional can educate these guys. Be safe out there... still miss OD.
Then refuse to pull it. They can not make you pull it like that. If people would start standing up and calling them out things like this might start to changealot of east coast shops wont change that because it has tread on one side have had shops refuse to change them like that before

Don't have time for that crap.Got'a Roll..Never understood drivers who always say "But the shop said ... !!!" If techs refuse to do their job, go to dispatch and tell them you won't pull that trailer. They can't force you to pull defective equipment. I work weekends regularly, when there is no one at that shop, and I have never had any problems with dispatch when refusing to pull trailers with OOS issues. They either give me a different trailer or call road rescue to have a contractor come out and fix the problem.
But like Ump said, that should have been caught by the previous driver, and at least 2 others before him.

FUNNY!! One driver refuses to pull. Then they just assign to another driver and someone will pull.
Yep!!! Never happen..I refused to pull a load and all they did was give to another driver who took it.So has long has this goes on nothing will change. It's on them then, not me. If more guys would grow a pair/pay attention and stand up together, a lot of these issues will go away.
