TForce | Thinking about jumping ship

At my location we received 2 freightliners about 3 months ago that was automatic trans with forward facing cameras

Has anyone talked to the union about this? I know it probably wont get anything done but paper trail is a start. As far as I know they aren't supposed to have cameras in our trucks without that being in the contract.

We got three freight liner automatics in January no camera, 1 new volvo twin screw in February also automatic no camera, I haven't a clue what you are talking about.

It's not a camera. It is the front facing lane departure warning system sensor. It sits right in the middle of the windshield near the top. It measures the lines on the road.

When the newer automatic Volvos first came out with all those detection gadgets, drivers were telling each other they were cameras then too...

But I would like to know...Has ANYONE figured how to shut those damn lane alerts off? They really are distracting...I know I hit that button more than 50 times on a trip...You don't even have to cross the line, just ride near it or cross over old ones from construction and it blurps. The AM/FM radios in the freightshakers are garbage...your listening to static and blurting lane alerts all night. You have to get yourself a XM or Iheart to drive those if your a RDDR.

I wish I could find out how to turn those darn alarms at least down, it's frustrating. One of our trucks is really touchie, the rest aren't as bad, I don't know what the difference is but...Being a city driver I don't really have time to listen to the radio much, in and out alot.
