i got in this mornings mail, yet another claim form, from a law firm, regarding Hire Right. i am in the "2 year class action suit"

i got some money last year ( i think) and there was a thread here about that....(i tried a search, but cannot think of the title used)

i just filled out the paper work, and made copies. i will mail it out Tuesday morning, as the mailman, has already made the pick up at the box.

i do not know how much i will get this time, but even if it's a dollar or two, i will gladly take it...

here is the webpage for the law firm, that sent me the notice.

I never lost a job or was denied employment through any known action of hireright, therefore i'll not contact the law firm yet THANK YOU PRO1 for the info.

they may not "make suits", but the men in "white suits" will be knocking on your door, as there is an arrest warrant out for you..!!!!!!

My notice indicated that I am eligible for $47 US. I don't know if my employer ever contacted them but I did just to see what I'd receive. It could be my request that makes me eligible for the settlement. I have 'til August to send it in so I am holding off a while to see if I hear of some sort of downside to submitting it.

now you see, some of you are saying you have a dollar amount they will be paying you.

i on the other hand, have no knowledge of what i "might get", only that the pay outs are "capped" at $200.

my last pay out was about the $200 amount. in fact, i copied the stub and posted it, but now that i think of it, i may have done so, at another trucking website. i just cannot say for sure on that.

my forms are "in the mail", snail mail at that, i was going to send it by certified mail, but then, i just didn't.

when the check for me comes in, i will make a copy and post it here.

but it is making me wonder how some of you get to know what you're getting, i do not.

there is NO downside to submitting the claim form. they have you on file, you a re entitled to the settlement monies, why not take it???

worse that could EVER happen is, they deny your claim.

since we have/had till August of this year to file, i suspect payouts to be by December..??????

OK, it reads that it will be approximately $47 but will depend on how many claim cards they receive.

so you see, no way, no how, with a cap of $200, is anyone going to gain, if no one files...ahem...'cept the lawyers of course.

i put that post card in the envelope with my claim form, all was the same as i recall, if not, they will hand it off to the correct person, it's what i did in the past.

I contacted hireright on two occasions to get a copy of my DAC report. And they sent me useless paperwork, hopefully that's why they're being sued. For not providing consumers with proper documentation upon request.

"They're Coming To Take Me Away, Ho Ho, Hee Hee, Haw Haw......."

I never signed anything stating anything regarding anything related to anyplace that houses "men in white suits" or their travels, therefore no such attempt at "arrest" will be initiated since "they" know not my name or s.s.n.

Looking at the "holiday resorts--NOT prisons--" as only the states provide, I am merely a signature away from a extended vacation.

I need not what I need not and I need not a knot in me shoe string yet one is usually provided.
CHUCKLES The LOON!!

P.S., I expect ZERO help from hireright. Hopefully BigDave will get some money so he can acquire some Mountain Dew and Oreos.

I received my check for $25.12 today and almost threw it away...I didn't recognize it as anything but just in case...I opened it and voila, check inside, enough to by a bottle of Bacardi 151. :wee:

i got 2 checks for the same amount.

each check, had a misspelling of my last name. anytime i order up my DAC, i get a list of my names, all misspelled.

as a result, i end up with at the very least, 2 checks each time.

one time, they will send me my DAC with the correct spelling, one time they will send it to me with a different spelling.

i know, that i know, how to spell my name. someone, somewhere mucked it up....

Gee why toss out a check for 25 bucks ABFer why that could buy you a sirloin,& (2) sides at Outback.
Hey its better than not getting anything.

Last year I received a letter from some lawyer that had a class action against a drug company.
Some pill my heart doc had subscribed for me,however it wasn't doing any good,so I had stopped taking it.
Which my doc gave me something else that did help.
Well anyway my settlement would have been a very small piece of the settlement.
So I never sent in the form they wanted me to.
However if I would have gotten enough for a steak dinner like you ABFer I may have gone for it.

sometimes it is not a matter of how little one gets in any settlement, it is that you got something that they owed you per the lawsuit/class action, etc. i say take it no matter what. a few weeks ago, i got the second check from that Red Bull class action suit. the first check was (i think) under $5.00. this latest check was for under $3.00. in the paperwork that had originally came to my house, it was said..."up to" $10.00 per claimant.

if we do not take the money, then it goes to the attorneys, at least this is what i am thinking. maybe if not much of the money is claimed, maybe it goes back to the company that was sued, i just don't know.

but even a tiny $1.00 rebate on a small purchase, i mail it in. the companies are "banking" that we toss out the paperwork, or never cash the checks.

why let them "win" again"...????

someone, went thru great lengths to file the lawsuits on all our behalfs, the least any of us can do is sit back, let the check(s) no matter how small or insignificant they may be, roll in, then cash them.

none of us "normal people" will get rich we know that, it's the law firm that represents the plaintiffs that get a huge chunk of that money, we all know that as well.

i say take the money, it reaches the sued party we are not going to sit by and do nothing, while they reap all the benefits, plus too, i feel that the company(s) may very well be MORE careful in how they advertise, or conduct business (as in DAC's case), and be aware other lawsuits can and will take place.

I was unfamiliar with the envelope it came in. I didn't recognize the name and it looked like junk mail from some unknown source, like a credit card offer or something. Often they hit the burn pile without even getting opened.

i have nothing better to do these days, so i open up all my mail. of course, obvious junk mail is recognizable to me, but envelopes get my full attention, since many here know of my injury, never know when it can be a law firm (as in the case of the DAC mail) it'll have a law firm name on it.

then after opening it and reading, if then i determine it is junk mail, only then does it get trashed, or even at times, shredded, especially if a credit card pre-approval.

since they sent you one check already, and you did not cash it, you may get another one, long after the expiration date of the one you destroyed...then again...maybe not....

No, you're missing the point...I ALMOST discarded it as trash but for some reason I opened it and it's already converter to Bacardi 151.
