Company is not "taking" anything from us. The negotiated pay rates took a 15% reduction from what they used to be previously after the MOU was voted on and accepted a number of years ago. This was done in order to save the company from potential Ch 11 when they didn't have the funds to pay the notes that were coming due.

Dues are 2.5 hours pay per month plus any additional surcharges that the local may have assessed. YRC workers took a 15% wage cut a few years ago, long story. They may be telling you the pre reduction pay rates and telling you that your pay is 15% less but doing that wouldn't make sense.

Regardless of what anyone tells you, pro or con, the only way to know for yourself is to give it a try and decide for yourself. You're not committed to stay if you find it's not for you. Good luck whatever you choose.

remember zero cost health insurance....you have to figure that in...if you pay 75 a week that is like a buck and a half an hour....there are better paying jobs.....why pick YRC over Holland?

5tolls is right, and remember you keep everything you make, you do not pay for anything,,and you won't find a more laid back work environment, here at this prison, the inmates run the asylum, it's a good job,

The rates away from the Chicago area, are about a dollar and some cents lower than ours. I forgot you were talking Atlanta.

This line of topic really made me think to myself, if I had a buddy looking to switch and he lived in an area with both a YRC terminal and a Holland terminal which would I suggest to him he goes to work for. I have worked for both and I am not sure that is a real easy question to answer?

.53678 a mile.that's with the 15%taken out.And a little lower for a van instead of a set
Wow thats crazy. I am moving to atlanta from Chicago. I work for fedex freight 15yrs but they are tripping with my transfer in Ga saying i have start at the bottom on the dock. Wow i want to go with YRC but xpo estes and abf all pay 4bucks more just dam

If you're going to Atlanta you should be aware that ABF and YRC participate in a dying pension fund. In addition to YRC's other pitfalls they only contribute 25% of what ABF does to that fund. Those pension contributions are part of your wage package and, as a result, you will probably earn more at a non union company.

What will you pay for insurance, how much an hour will you pay, think about that,I would check out abf,and go from there, you can always get a job at yrc,I work at Yrc, you won't have to get in line that's for sure, best of luck to you

You won't loose money here, just showup, they have a tendency to do a lot of dumb ::shit::, which translates into a lot of money for you, they will stuff your pockets if you let them, they didn't get into the position there in financially by accident,

Sounds to me like you would be better off going to one of the competitors and it would be better for us also because when they can't hire anyone eventually they will have to raise the wages closer to the competition.....it's a win-win! Good Luck Brother!
