XPO | XPO overtime

I pretty sure he got his answer..., if he is concerned about OT I'm sure he will go elsewhere. Unions still seem to be stronger in the north, but they seem to be working harder in the south with two potential terminals going their way. I get the feeling that a large portion of the rank and file in the south is used to the way that their OT is paid..., and probably have no idea that the rest of the system is paid differently with OT. When you run the numbers, its a big difference in pay. Simply put, this company should pay all their employees with the same OT rules system wide....whether its the way they pay in the south, or the way that they pay in the rest of the system. It should be same across the board.
Board of directors when they hear people should be paid the same.

You guy's can't just answer the mans questions? If you live north of of the Mason Dixin line you get paid OT after 8 hours in a day or 40 hrs. If you live south of that, you get paid OT after 50 hrs. We get the shaft in south because they say the unions are stronger in the north and they try to keep them at bay.
Will XPO be sold? Who knows but if it happens it won't be for awhile. We get worked like dogs here but we do have better benifits then most other LTL carriers. Some of these 20+ yr drivers been here too long and don't realize how great they have it.
The better benefits statement is a matter of opinion, I feel that my insurance among other things is better than what I had at Con-Job. Just saying.

Thanks I hope its not two year. I have a offer from YRC and XPO just doing my research on both or just stay put...

Driver. Stay put. FedEx is growing. There are some growing pains but it's going to be better long term. YRC. What more can anyone say ? Just don't, man. XPO. The are flipping for profit. This thing is going to be cut and gutted and sold off. You really wanna live through that ?

Always good to be looking. I would guess you have good reason to. No job is perfect. But of those three. You are best where you are.

I agree. Looking ahead based on the last 10 years of LTL, you are working for the best company in the LTL business. Driving a truck is way too mobile, scattered & most important has no special nitch that makes for forming a strong union. Heavy crane operators have a strong union. They don't have to travel, docking berth for large ships are limited, ships wait in the harbor to unload, the skill set to work the docks takes a lot more time & training than 6 weeks @ JB Hunt's driving school. Many reasons why some industries have lasted with union workers & will continue to do so. Dragging general freight down the highway is not one of them. Trucking is like a nomadic tribe, constantly moving. Even harder is finding enough drivers to assemble in one place to organize. And then there is the most important & last reason why organizing a union amongst truckers will always fail. Where does the sun rise? East or West?
