Are all your terminal managers liars? I was hired by GLK and bryan said I was being hired to run linehaul and be back every morning but instead had me scheduled to run the road.. Is this common in your Company?

I would think that it is more common to be hired for the system than straight to a regular home everyday run. I would contact Human Resources.

TM in Raleigh is a flat out liar! Lied to several new hires. Lies on a daily basis to drivers! Couple of them called him out on it!

If corporate knew what was going on in that terminal they should be embarrassed and absolutely fire him!

Just ask the drivers there. Past and present! They will speak the truth. He's the reason for the rotating door there.

I had enough BS when I was at Conway/XPO... I was not going to be served more at a new job.

You can't expect to get a set run at first. You must pay your dues just like the next guy. You shouldn't have the right to bump ahead of someone that's been on the extra board waiting his turn. If he lied to you that's just not right but even so I wouldn't have quit over it. We all must pay our dues.

Okay. Now you are assuming that is what I was attempting to do ... I am not surprised that YOU would imply I was trying to screw someone over ... so let me explain something to you .. read it slow so you get it the first time .. During MY interview I asked him if I was going to be back every morning. He said more often than not yes you will ... which means what ... I am going to be back every morning .. no where it says I am jumping someone ... GLK is a newer facility in Northern Illinois which is establishing itself in the area ... and the man also said I will be adding dedicated runs .. which means what ... a rebid .. which means I could have gotten a dedicated with the rebid that added runs... you following me runawaybrain... well guess what ... no runs were added. Which means what ... system driver .. which I did not want to be and I told him that from the start ... so runawaybrain .. I was not EXPECTING to jump over anyone. I have paid my dues... 22 years worth... and I would have paid it at saia if the TM would have added the dedicated runs like he said he was so ... Whatever you are implying is INSULTING and furthermore GFY. The man at GLK wasted my time and SAIA's money by having me go thru the hoops with his lie assuming I would have stayed.. I did not need the job when I hired and I do not need one now ... I could live like a pauper for the next year if need be.

Just the reply I expected from a primadonna (diva) .... Whatever!!! As far as paying dues all I know is you didn't pay them at SAIA.

Hmmm so let me get this right..... You work for saia one day and you expect them to add set linehaul runs and rebid in one day? Wow just freaking wow! One day? Dang I've heard of stuff before but man for someone to work one day and expect all that. I'm speechless. No wait.... I got it. Dumbass. There the says it.

It's the slow season as well. If he would have stuck with it until at least things pickup and they will. I'm certain he would have got a dedicated run. For sure by April or May is my guess. Patience is a virtue and he obviously has no patience IMO. He obviously has a chip on his shoulder from his XPO days and wants to think SAIA would have been the same way. He immediately got defensive about my comment when I actually didn't mean it the way he took it. He has anger management issues ... Again just my opinion. He just didn't have the ability to wait for something without getting angry or upset. It's a character issue. That's why patience is a virtue. Patience is very valuable quality that's needed in today's business climate. I'm always willing to give someone the benefit of a doubt. And give them enough time to do what they have said they will do. One day just simply isn't enough.

I just give em enough rope to hang their self. I mean really the mentality of people nowadays feeling so entitled to things. If the TM had said yes you should return to home domicile every day I would take it as subject to change due to freight flow and volume. I mean really you have to expect anything. Good lord quit crying and take some responsibility for your own ineptness to figure stuff out. Hell if he has as much experience in freight as he says he should know it's trucking, things change expect the unexpected.

Train I agree with just about all your points in just about everything. It's just that people always try to make a mountain out of mole hill. Some people are just to dumb to figure out things their self.

Central dispatch in CGO was telling me they just added 4 new runs at GLK. That terminal is new, but the manager has a hard time keeping city guys because of the idiot troll they have for a dock manager, so they either quit or transfer to linehaul. Honestly I'm surprised that they hired anyone off the street for linehaul.

Nice double standard...companies expect us drivers to be honest during the interview process, yet they hid the truth from you. It's called integrity, and it used to be a big deal at Saia. I guess times have changed. Wake up! There is a national truck driver shortage. Maybe attracting and retaining drivers would be easier if the respect, integrity, and honesty factor were a little higher.

Some still have temper tantrums when it's not what they wanna hear. Must be from my generation.

Yea I do have a chip on my shoulder from my XPO days .. I thought I was going to get a fresh start somewhere else and I felt the TM lied to me ... and I thought here we go again .. I am not entitled .. I know my place. I do not want to skip over a man who has 10 15 20 years or even one year a man deserves his seniority ... I just want a man to be honest with me. Maybe I made a mistake but we shall see ... LTL has not been a good fit for me the last 5 years with all the changes at XPO/conway or whatever they call themselves .. Maybe I should have taken more time off between jobs ... I also listened to a couple of guys I know who painted a rosey picture of what SAIA was like and I dont blame them dont get me wrong ... It just was not going to work for me. My ma is almost 80... and I dont need to be in nashville if something happens to her. If he would have said you are going to be a systems driver right off the bat .. I would not have wasted SAIA's time or money. Me an angry man .. yes to a point .. Dumbass .. not really .. I was just looking out for myself ... mostly my family .. I cant do road life with my situation.

Agreed, patience is a virtue. So is honesty. Honesty is like pregnancy...you either are or aren't. Having that level of communication and transparency would have saved a lot of people a lot of grief.

Well actually if TM said he would be home more times than not as the driver stated himself, thats not being home everyday. If he was out 3 times and home 2 times a week thats still more times than not. U got 2 watch that tricky wording.
