Wilson getting bought out today...

The buy out is everything...customers, contracts real-estate and equipment
"Wilson Trucking Corporation announced today that it has signed a Letter of Intent with Central Freight Lines, Inc. of Texas whereby Central Freight Lines will buy certain assets of Wilson Trucking "

Surely they will need to retain some office personnel. They may have to go through the application process and be treated as a new hire but I would think office employees will be needed.I think it will be an upgrade for the workers retained, across the board....GL

From my understanding, since Central has their own office in Waco, only a couple in the office will be offered a job (more so those in sales), but the rest will be gone. Roughly 200 people will be without a job. It's not gonna be easy since a couple of the other trucking companies in the area aren't hiring for office personnel or just 1 job opening and 65 people from Wilson have applied for the same job

Central has informed Wilson employees that we have to apply to work for them. Employment is not guaranteed by we have priority over outside hires, if the applicant meets centrals standards and pass all the drug and background checks. If we are hired we keep our seniority and vacation. We are already getting more paid holidays and cap out on vacation with less years of service. Their is also a nice match with the 401K where Wilson didn't give you shut. From my understanding, they are not using any of Wilson's equipment due to age and milage, they have thier own trucks trailers and forklifts ready to go. The haul exclusively pups in their line haul; they do have strait trucks but they require double endorsement so it's unclear if they will hire our class B drivers. We are also unsure of what the wages will be. Over all this looks like a good change as long as we get hired on with central.

I do know everyone out in the field got an email on Thursday or Friday with an application from Central...no one at Corporate office got anything. Sucks a$$ when a lot of people worked 3 or more people's jobs because they either couldn't be replaced or Wilson didn't wanna hire anything but temps (which now makes complete sense). Still just sucks! Feel really bad for the people that have been there 20+ years and especially the ones close to retirement.

The writing was on the wall, several years ago.Im actually surprised they stayed in it this long.Greed killed this company.

Absolutely, a big dose of stupidity helped as well! I made this prediction 20 years ago. The ONLY reason it took so long is because Wilson had LOTS of money made years ago by strong management and many loyal, devoted employees who were the best at what they did and sacrificed greatly to make the company strong. All those people are long gone and this once great company that many have said gave them the best job they ever had is gone as well. So sad and disappointing, wishing all the best to those in Fishersville and other locations who now find themselves without a job.

Anyone know if the Baltimore or Fishersville terminal are going to central, there are no jobs posted for them with central
My understand that everything is being sold to Central.Wilson Employee's have been informed that they will be notified when Central get's there Online Application up and going

Good luck to everyone effected by all this we all bills to pay and family to take care off.It would be a shame to lose all of the years of hard work and benefits to have to start fresh somewhere else. It could be any company or anyone of us nothing is gaurenteed anymore in our jobs. hope all turns out well.

That's a good deal if they keep current pay. Hopefully they have good medical to go with it and they get to keep seniority and not loose any vacation time

It's been 2 years since a pay raise, Wilson pays several dollars less an hour than most of the other ltl carriers. The employees really want a bump up. They will keep seniority and vacation
