loads sitting at shipper, not a few, 2-12, not picked up for days, drivers on layoff. when it is picked up, linehaul gets most of it. this becoming an sop, not picking up at this customer. is Hagerstown trying to drive off its largest shipper?
cant pick it up because not making goal, cant make goal without a bill count, cant make money without shippers. cant keep shippers if we don't pick up their shipments

rumor has they want to shrink the network which makes sense because every nite in chicago no trucks, or no dollies...or yard guys have a hair up there azz... road drivers are finally getting smart after waiting 3,4,5 hours there going in and saying fatigued and going home, or they don't have the hours after waiting to make run.......so they need to get rid of frieght thats labor intensive and doesn't pay good....so we can get e times delivered on time , plus layoffs and not hiring because management nows they add 2 employees and still are doing the same number of bills but everyones still working 60 hours so there was no need for 2 more guys....... so they layofff or don't hire......

Same thing happening where I am. Including layoffs.
It's the numbers thing. Numbers look good.
I though this was just happening at our term but looks like it happening everywhere this numbers game will put this company out of business they management better get there head out or it will not last long very very sad never thought I would see it this bad every since the merger it has been getting bad enough sad !!!

Same story at all the barns and regional one's ,short Driver's and Equipment and very short on management common sense !! It's all about the number's game ,so manager's get there Bonus checks !!

When does this contract expire???? Hmm, must be the reason for the madness to keep doing dumb stuff.

Same issues here and it is all about the numbers. Short manpower, don't want to pay OT on some shifts freight sits.
Teamsters doing managements job as they are clueless about the operations. YRC just hired a supervisor who's last job was a manager Poppa Johns Pizza. Knows nothing about freight, when given a stripper we Teamsters are telling him how to code bills.

That has gotten old now so we leave it to them to do (supervisor)." Misloaded freight "don't blame the loader, blame the coder"
Here theres no layoff hired a couple of guys from Wilson trucking and Old Dominion and both are leaving after three weeks with the pay and 15% applied.

Can't keep no one they try to hire and god forbid if they try to fire someone. The look is priceless when we show up everyday to punch in as it is like
" you showed up late but I'm glad you showed up, can you work 4 hours OT" . No I can't I need to be off on my 8th hour or I can go home now.

If this type of activity don't put them out of business the computers that they are going to put in the tractors by the end of the year will.no more running 500 miles and dropping and hooking at 3 different terminals along the way in 14 hrs

Hey!I just work here.I let the big wheels make the decisions.I'm glad I don't have to think that hard as the stupidvisors have to do.If you know your job and the stupidvisor knows a little of his job together you all make a team.Teamwork

Hburgh got a lot of snow maybe ? Albany 104 got nearly 20 inches this past week. We have 22 men on bid and freight piled to the sky and manager tells me not to worry about it but give 100 percent and be professional and let them figure out how to get more people in the door. BA said same thing to me. What he dont realize is that if this pig goes belly up than 26k monthly union due checks stopping rolling into the slush hall. We dont have a union we have a bunch of yes men. Lets give cc's to men because we dont have equipment and then we can average it out to lets say 14 men on the street and then thats what they give you for equipment to run because we average 14 men on the street. No one is that stupid to pile up the freight get more freight in the door and then not deliver or pick it up but YRC wrote the book on fing it all up daily.

You think that's bad, look at the Holland guys, 600 plus miles a nite, plus drop and hook time, in a 62 mph junker. Running legal with slow trucKS will kill holland, either the governor goes to 67, minimum, or else the OR goes over 100...

If a Wilson guy took a look around and jumped ship, follow suit we know first hand what a sinking ship looks like

And also waiting 4 plus hours on a 500 plus mile run.

Our crack team management had missed picking up a load three days in a row. The P&D guys kept telling them to get someone in there before 2pm. They attempted three times to get there with a empty trailer and missed it. Fourth attempt missed as they brought in a guy at noon but had him make a few deliveries to empty out. Driver got tied up missed the pick up and management has the balls to try and discipline this guy after all the mismanagement and miscommunication.

We Teamsters are not the problem here its these narcissist narrow minded mother truckers they have in charge here. For the record I am not pissed but just calling it the way it is. Our supervisor "Poppa John" is what we call him is lost in the sauce, as the TM wants us to teach this guy the ropes. But in turn he tells Poppa John don't befriend those Teamsters write them up any time you can.

Life could be soo much easier here but they don't want it that way..... They prefer a sour workforce and hostile environment so lets play:17142:

Your last sentence summed what's been up for the past 8 years.
No respect.
And before that no common sense.
We know the way they work you have to get someone started at 8am to make a 2pm closure....or pickup :17142:
