ABF | Ernie Soehl, National Freight Director

Tyson Johnson and Gordon Sweeton should've been looking out for the members,....... even if Hoffa had given them orders to dismember the NMFA. They swore an oath to the membership, not Hoffa.

Now Mr. Soehl is in their place. Where does his loyalties lie?

Yes, Hoffa and Johnson should have shut YRC down and that would have put 25,000 Teamsters out of a job. Some said it was only about the loss of dues that caused Hoffa to fight to save YRC. I'm no fan of Hoffa but I was glad that he worked to save YRC.
It was a all about the dues. 25,000 employees * $50 per month in dues = 1.25 million revenue each month. Think about this figure for a minute. I am not in to the Las Vegas bookmaking business world but I don't think they would have put 1 dollar on the line betting it wasn't about the dues money. It was & still is all about the amount of revenue the IBT takes in from all divisions in dues payments. Sign a contract giving back your money, they still get 2.5 hours per month in dues dollars. Why would they not let YRC go under? Because the loss of dues monies would hurt. If they close, they close. Until then they can represent the rank & file in the littlest way possible & STILL get 2.5 of you hard earned money.

A Union's " stock in trade" is morality. Once a Union starts making decisions based on profit instead of morals,....... or doing what's right instead of doing what's profitable......

Once a Union starts making decisions based on money, then that Union has lost it's reason for existence.

Corporations do that,...... at the expense of people. Unions were created to put people before profit. That's why corporations hate Unions......

After all,..... what's more important? People....... Or Business?

I can answer that in one word,....... I'm sure many corporate people would struggle with answering ......

I would hope our Union leadership could answer in the same word as I do.......
..

And that, my friend, is right where the teamsters union is today and is why I have no use for them.

I don't think they struggle with that answer at all.
I would hope our Union leadership could answer in the same word as I do.......
They'd answer it as you like it but I know where their hearts are.

Their hearts are close to their gall bladder,...... anatomically speaking. They have the monstrous gall to tell us their "caving" to trucking management is for our own good.

And since their hearts are surrounded by the gall bladder,.... that means they have barely enough room for a teeny, tiny spleen.......... so they certainly don't have the courage to stand up to corporate bullies like Zollar's.....

Or.........Maybe their sphincter runs straight through their brain and out their mouth instead of their rectum.......... providing a mental cleansing of their "thought process" every couple of hours.......

Maybe their rectum was sealed off and is causing a backup and buildup of normally excreted waste products.......

Maybe we ought to do a forensic internal medical examination of some of our elected IBT officials to determine if their innards are as scrambled as they seem.........

I've got a dull butter knife and a pair of needle-nose pliers.........

I distinctly and abjectly apologize for my abuse of the meanest and most vile of all humor......... the lowly pun......

Well...they did this at ABF a while back and now it's YRC's turn. I have to wonder if the original 'contracts' would have passed if this monkey business was included in them.

Oh Good Grief! Ernie Soehl's first official act as freight director.........and he falls flat on his face as he further aids and abets YRC management in dismantling the NMFA...

Why don't we all just white paper the contract and have us negotiate our wages and benefits locally? Who needs a National Director if he's not interested in setting national standards?

Tyson Johnson and Gordon Sweeton have both struck out........Ernie Soehl steps into the batter's box...........YRC winds up with a two-finger grip on the plastic whiffle ball........the ball is lofted into the strike zone.........Soehl hoists the bat back and takes a furious swing.............and spins completely around in a cloud of dust and beans himself in the back of the head with the bat before falling on his face.........Strike One!
