Hang in there, new equipment on the way, just waiting for paint.

Ok. Who's da smartass what stole the Bulldog emblem off the frekin hood!!!! Damn the front tires have more tread on them than some line hauls I've seen lately! The scary part of this is I most likely drove those "Allentown Vibrators" out of 120!

I don't think the "R models had jiff locks ,they started with the Road Commodes cab overs

They did. The old R700 longnose Macks from the 70's didn't. I loved these old "twin stack Macks with a window in the back". Weren't much for climbing hills but really rolled on the flats and handled like they were on rails. Manual steering of course. V8 Detroit, 10 speed Roadranger.

The R600 Macks from the mid 80's did have jiffs.

It could get interesting when backing the R600 Mack and a 28 ft. pup trailer. It was really hard to see around the fairing
at times.
In Chicago you had to be careful. With the Freightliners and the Kenworths, too The mirror brackets were so wide, compared to the Volvos. If you weren't careful you'd hit the toll collector's booth on the Tollways. Didn't hurt the bracket, but the toll collectors were NOT impressed! :cuss::duh::hilarious:

Curious, did you ever get out of the truck when you stopped @ the world famous Rube's Truck Stop? Now I can say from experience the diner was a really good greasy spoon. But as to the rest of the place, POTUS should have let fly one of them birds out of a Nebraska Silo to handle the rest of Rube's. Been to many years since I have been there, but I did enjoy the diner's food, but come night time I drove about 80 miles back to the TA that I believe was near the Delaware Water Gap Bridge. In the morning we would leave the TA & cross the GWB to make our deliveries. ! delivered usually to Queens or Brooklyn. Hauled cheese out of WI to NY & always got my back hauls from the brokers in the trailers. Talk about a driver being green!!! I was him. First 2 times I went with another driver who had his own load to deliver. Thinking back, I really needed that guidance from him. Not sure I would have made it without his help. After the second run I new what to expect. One of the companies I really made my bones with in this industry. von.

Well alrighty then I stand corrected , that was after i left Big R in '82 . The twin stacks we had up here were out of new york for the thru way doubles full 318's 10speeds, they would bring them to Toledo to service them. and mud yeah loved the "batwings" of course I really loved the "sidecar Macks" easy to get toll tickets since3 you were hung out to the left already. Can't recall isn't the second number of the tractor the year of it?

Side bar for a second here; company paid a guy last week to reclaim one of our city units back to linehaul. Showed up for work last night and guess what, "it's back!!!". Gotta love the pathetic managing of that situation with money to burn..

Ah come on wong. If you're going to dish it out, you're going to get it back. It's all just joking around.
WOW ! Mud, I am glad to see you are ok, must have been a close call with that newer Volvo, Triplex was driving. He said it had mud all over the wheels. Did you find your two wheeler yet ? :hilarious:
