First off you people know who I am and where I'm located. Never tried to hide it. Never will. So if anyone out there has a problem with what I'm going to say well, Come see me.
I read another post on this site talking about how Mr.Mitch Lilly had a "Town Hall Meeting" complete with charts and whatnot. Serfice it to say what he was putting forward was the Company position. It's his right to do so.
We Teamsters have been under this M.O.U. for the last 8 years with 2 more years to go doing our part to keep this company operating and preserving our jobs.
Now if my info is wrong or my numbers are in any way off I know there are those out there who will come up with the correct info and I will then change my numbers.
Last I knew there were about 23000 Dues paying Union Employees at YRCW. As we all know, Those on the road make more than P&D, Yard, Dock Office etc. So for the sake of keeping it simple I'll say everyone of these Employees gave $10,000 a year back to the Company with the 15% giveback. I'm not even counting the lost vacation or the reduced pension payments. This number has to be pretty close.

So 23000 Union employees x $10,000 a year =$230,000,000 a year. Wow.
Ok now wait! It gets better,

$230,000,000 x 8 years = $1,840,000,000.

Did I do this right? $1.8 BILLION DOLLARS?

So before Mr. Lilly or anyone else comes to my Terminal with the "Town Hall Meeting" be prepared to answer this simple question,
WHERE IN THE HELL DID THE MONEY GO?
I'm not looking for some smart ass, It's in the Cayman Island account or some crap. If possible I want the truth.
If we give back that much money and YRCW still has problems then dammit there got to be some mis management OR SOMETHING ELSE GOING ON!
We have old, Worn out equiptment, Terminals at mutiple locations are too damn small, And we can't get good people to apply at the rates we are offering. Anyone else see a problem with this picture?
This is not the first time I have posted something like this. I'm still waiting on an answer from the last time. The difference now? Management is not starting to "blow their horn" about the next contract.
Both the Company and the International Union had better be ready to answer some hard questions. There are lots of People like me who have had it with the bull----!

We have been boondoggled. But we have a job right?

Where'd did the money go. Well lets see before the merger how big was roadway? How much revenue it generated before yrcw bought them and same with yellow and holland..........separate entities

Say find there gross refund from 2000 I'd bet that yrc and Holland and new Penn roadway don't generate 1/3 the revune now .....I think before the merger and the great recession in 2008 there was over 75000 teamsters in those companies now 23000. So in 2000 say all those company's made for example 8 billion and now 1.7. Billion as example also cheaper freight rates more ltl companies, look how big Conway and old dominion got in the last 10 years while we shrunk,,,,,,,,, bottom line you make less you pay less

maybe that gives a rough idea I hope you

It's gone. It's somewhere with our pension money.
Good question to ask of course. All we will get is double talk. So I don't see why we would even ask them.
Bart.
I don't even think the monies actually exist.
We can add what we give them to death. But it doesn't exist.
They run on fumes.

This is hard for many to understand, but we never gave them any money back, it just cut their outflow of cash they did not have.

They need that money for capex and opex.:stirthepot:

Sorry but if it's not in my paycheck them it was given back. There are many different ways of looking at it. This is mine.

What's in your paycheck is what the contract stipulates. What you think should be in your paycheck is your delusion. Isn't it time to accept reality?

I see that LEHIGH vALLEY forgot to get your permission to post here. He should be ashamed of himself for having his own feelings and opinions and sharing them with us. How shall we punish him?

No one needs my permission to post and I need no ones permission to post either. Just like you're perfectly able to respond to my post, I'm perfectly able to respond to anyone's post. Is there a problem with that?

I understand your frustration, and I am frustrated also with watching some of the dumb things the company has done. On almost a daily basis I hear people say so-and-so freight company makes this much, and they only have to pay 50 or$75 a week for health insurance. If you divide the 50 or $75 in your base pay now you're at five and 6% or more short on your paycheck. Is this what you want, or is this what we should do as a bargaining group.
I also know some of the other carriers the nonunion ones have blackout days for vacations, we don't have that we have a formula in the contract that the company has to follow. One driver recently from a non-union told me that he has 16 years in but he can't get a vacation week in the summertime because the way it's set up at their barn, There are pros and cons to both sides but it's just like A lot of other things in life if it's that bad and we are that miserable then we need to move on to something else that meets our standards.

Sometimes we are our own worst enemy's recently there was a grievance filed to get the encrypted amount back on our paychecks. Instead the company gave us a summary of our 2016 earnings, and with that they also gave us how Much they're paying and health and welfare and their share of the taxes. We asked for it they gave it to us now you can bet they're going to use that in negotiations and say look boys this is what we pay every year for you.

When you ask that question, I think Mr. Lilly will pretend he can't hear you (something wrong with the mic) or perhaps "good question we'll get back to that"

We are our own worst enemy.
And we will never ever get a straight answer.
Just double talk as I said.
It's like the Phyco movie for those of us old enough.
Ask a question and walk away with a knife in your back.
Ask any question. Dare ya. :17142:
I understand LV's frustration.
We all would like to know what the intentions were. And are.
Wouldn't it be nice to get full account for the next two years.
Instead of numbers we really don't understand.
Some of you guys do. But I think they are just pushing numbers around like they always have.
Well. We know we have two more years of employment.
Vote no. They won't get a dime from me in 19. I hope we can all agree on that. :emoticon digging:
Enjoy.

Maybe these 2 comparisons from 06,and 2015 will better show what dokman means. Less than half the revenue in 15, than 06,and still operating saddled with the Zollars created debt, interest, and all the other costs of doing business.

It's really no mystery, we all see it right in front of us. MISMANAGEMENT!! They burried us in debt and 8 years later still have no clue how to get freight up and down the road profitably.

There are lots of opinions as to whether it's a pay cut like you mentioned. When the -10% + -5% are deducted from my paycheck then l see it as -15% into my cash flow that I'm not getting whether I see it on my paycheck or not. Minus means less....".......just my opinion

The reason the revenue is down so much is because the freight we do haul is crap that no other company wants
