Having had an E-log for a little over a week, am curious what those of you who've had them much longer think. What have been your experiences?
I agree on drivers honestly, but you can't say central knew some of our runs with a 64 mph truck where iffy on the legal side.More like makes the drivers honest IMO...no more fudging on the nanny break or pencil whipping a log just to make it back.
And neither could the drivers yet they keep on driving...who's fault is that?? Central doesn't drive the truck but the drivers still cash the check.I agree on drivers honestly, but you can't say central knew some of our runs with a 64 mph truck where iffy on the legal side.
The good.. we haven't started using them.
The bad.. we will have to use them.
The ugly...ST
Not sure I quite understand, but what effect does this have if I decide to pull off on the shoulder and do a number 1 or 2 if I drank too much chocolate milk. I never log those, so what's up?
There is a driver in your yard that can explain that to you.Not sure I quite understand, but what effect does this have if I decide to pull off on the shoulder and do a number 1 or 2 if I drank too much chocolate milk. I never log those, so what's up?
If you are quick you are fine. If it takes you more than 3 minutes the eld will switch you to on dutyNot sure I quite understand, but what effect does this have if I decide to pull off on the shoulder and do a number 1 or 2 if I drank too much chocolate milk. I never log those, so what's up?
What the hell happened to seven minutes? If you are quick you are fine. If it takes you more than 3 minutes the eld will switch you to on duty
What the hell happened to seven minutes?
So pull the trailer valve?at 3 minutes the eld logs back to on duty, time stamping when the brakes were set.
So pull the trailer valve?
So pull the trailer valve?
The "seven minutes" in reference to quarter hour is paper logs, ELD's keep track of every single minute. What the hell happened to seven minutes?
If you are quick with the bathroom break, fiddling with the log is unnecessary. If you're stopping at a truck stop to drop a deuce, and might be 10 minutes, clock off. Unlike paper logs that are time consuming to draw all the lines on, elogs change with a few quick button pushes. It's not as aggravating and once you get used to it you'll hate paper logs.
Wouldn't be surprised if Fedex bump the speed up on some of these bid trucks
