XPO | Is xpo hiring in Austin Tx?

He does not want to do that. We had our regional HR manager tell us that if you quit they will not rehire you this is across the board, driver, dockworker, and even managers a office personal. I know of one TM that this happened to as for a driver I never heard of a case.
We have had several who quit and were hired back. Only to quit again when it got slow. Terminal by terminal basis.

This guy is not looking to transfer. He can't be bothered by "the whole transfer procedure". He is talking about quitting. Moving south and looking to hire on at another barn. At least that is what I inferred from his statement. That means loosing it all and starting over, and that is only if he gets re-hired. Which is a long shot, at least it was during the former Con-Way era. If ya quit, you had a better chance at winning the lotto than being re-hired. During my time here I only know of one guy that was re-hired, and it happens to be said named driver. I know of several others that have tried the comeback tour, to no avail." Might as well go to OD like everyone one else that quit. Unless the OP returns to further explain, we will never know the full details of his master plan.

I know two weeks ago Saia in Austin TX was needing 3 P&D drivers... I suspect in the next couple of weeks they will have a $5000 sign-on bonus if the cannot hire people.
( Eagleford Shale is starting to pick again).

I know about slow & layoffs. But in this time of trying to hire drivers, I would not let them leave. Offer to transfer them to another terminal & pay their expenses until it picks back up. Or anything to retain them. I bet more than half in this business who are laid off never come back to the same company or even the industry. Location might dictate how you treat or handle your help, but if they are hard to come by, & based on the number of trucks sitting in a companies yard with no driver to hold the steering wheel, I would find a way to hold on to them, for they are to hard to come by. von.

That's too logical. Management doesn't think like that. When it's slow, cut expenses.
