SAIA | DriveCam ... By Lytx

I couldn't get any closer than about 6 inches

The Volvo I drive I'm not sure if Kevin Durant ( 6' 9" ) could reach the record button. They took passenger side visor off and it's
in between the mounts. I haven't driven but one freightliner and I couldn't reach it either. The camera in that freightliner was
very sensitive 3 videos in 9 miles of construction. I wonder how much each video costs SAIA?

Not even close to being able to reach them from driving position. But according to drive cams website they could have installed a remote activation switch. Guess we weren't worth that.
They don't care about anything WE want them to see. Silly boy...
You guys are so miserable here. Do yourself a favor and leave. If you hate this company so bad for what they have done then just leave. Problem solved. You can't and won't change things by ripping SAIA. This company survived long before you came and will be here long after your gone.

What I can't figure out is that the shop, in my passthru barn, can take an old trailer and recondition it, including new perfectly aligned logos, yet nobody thought to sit in the seat and check for reach, for the manual activation button, or did they? After reading this, you can just sense Train's blood pressure exploding, cant you? It's almost like the force on Star's War.

I often wondered how much each video costs also. I tried to ask but, they wouldn't give me a straight answer.

Drac, don't you dare insinuate that the almighty Saia gods might have made a mistake. Blasphemer!

Anything SAIA can do to prevent law firms like this from coming after us is a good thing. As you can see a Bluetooth makes no difference. All they want is SAIA's money and the less we give them the more we get back in a form of compensation. So understand and believe a driver caught on a Bluetooth will be a liability. A liability we can most certainly do without. His phone records will be our undoing. We don't need that and that's why we find ourselves where we're at today.

I think you better post those same two news stories in a few more places. I can certainly think of a good place for them... :eck13::eck13::eck13:
I could post many different ones but it would be pointless. You have your mind made up and I can't change that. All I can say is I hope you stay even with all of our differences.

They are not cheap. We asked at xpo, was over a buck per video, regardless if they decided to forward to the company or not.

If that is true, upnorth, Then we need to just go down the road creating videos. Making sure we have both hands on the wheel and our phones turned off. LOL

I do know that when we were Conway, they changed the parameters of what videos were to be forwarded to the company. You pay them to view and review every single event, and more if it meets the criteria for reporting to the company.

I remember that. Funny because I remember wondering why it had been such a long time since I had been coached for frivolous BS. That was right after they started losing drivers left and right.

It's funny you mention lawsuits! A lot of companies have not gone with driver facing cams for that very reason. All video from truck cams can be reviewed in a lawsuit against saia or anyone else! Runaway train you sound like a driver who follows the rules, you ever have to scratch your nose when you drive? Hands wouldn't be at 10 and 2! Are you checking your mirrors every 5 to 8 seconds for 8 to 10 hours of driving? Highly unlikely! What do you think a lot of drivers are doing, no one is that rigid! The point being any good tort lawyer can exploit that video cam to there clients benefit and sue the pants off saia. That camera is extra ammo for a lawyer looking to sue the company

Runawaytrain is a P&D driver. He is in and out of the truck all of the time and has no idea what is like to have to spend several hours in the truck.
