FedEx Freight | What's the BIG news coming this summer

I can't see Estes having anything FedEx doesn't already have, besides market share. Would FedEx feel threatened enough by Estes to buy them, just to absorb them/put them out of business? Maybe, but probably not. It wouldn't be a cheap proposition and the net gain for FedEx wouldn't be very big.

In any case, I was being facetious. FedEx is involved in a litany of businesses that Estes might be interested in entering, but them buying FedEx is about as likely as FedEx buying them. The joke was that rumors should be taken with a grain of salt.

Seeing Estes trailers in a FedEx yard doesn't necessarily mean anything. LTL's will often pay one another to move trailers around "out of system" with the goal of getting them somewhere more useful.

Maybe they could dovetail in ahead of all us veterans. After all that'd be fair right? Sorry, and here I thought I was over it lol

I am guessing Estes wants to buy FedEx so they can acquire the movie rights to Big Dave's hat....

No fedex logos on ground trucks. ....all ready being implemented. .. contractors name only.... contracted to fedex

Some how or another a consolidation of all fedex companies. ... just my opinion of course.

That's not it. After the buy out, FedEx will only keep the OD drivers with Mastio Awards.....what is that, like 3??? Three ain't gonna screw up bids....

I could care less about the other OD drivers cuz I know my job is safe. I'd just have to start showing up all them FedEx drivers.

First thing Fedex is going to want to do after buying OD is replace all the OD line drivers with Schneider contract power. OD drivers speed, text and sleep while driving. You don't want that destroying the FedEx brand.

Not the ones I see..... they are one of the professional drivers left. Not sure about the city guys. ... been a few years since I have been in the city. .... what I do remember is that the city guys were normally sleeping out behind the buildings

Line guys usually roll over the trucks so the freight doesn't make it to the terminal so what else are we suppose to do? Most OD line drivers, text while drive, talk on cell phones while against company policy while driving, swerve all over the road and sleep while driving. You see an OD truck, make sure you get around it quick. We only hire guys out of CDL school and docks these days.

Gotta change your name again..
Purpleremainsthesame
OD'd on orange

Song would be a fantastic addition after the buyout. The guy is nothing but a real truck driver. When the going got tough, he even went and did city for 6 months without complaining. Not a line driver in the world could go back to the man's side of driving.

Don't you go ruining our image with that positive talk!!
