Said our trailers were all over their yard and they were pulling our trailers. I was clueless

Were they possibly " new" trailers? Not unusual at all for ltl competitors to use someone's trailers for a one way move, just to get the trailers where they need them, and the company moving them, loading them with freight of theirs. On the FedEx board, posters are already saying the Estes buying FedEx,or FedEx buying Estes thing. Hell. Estes owns many of yrc's terminals, and leases them back to yrc.

I work for Ames Department stores years ago. When we got new trailers, Economy Transport was used. Just what BIG R said. an ltl company usually will pu the units from the mfg, load it, move it to their terminal closest to the end user. I recovered many trls from ABF

I tried to explain that to them. But then old BillyLo found his way out of the OD board and the jokes began.

More new trailers. I remember during the recession we were buying used equipment. How times have changed. What else is this company buying?

I saw a YRC delivering a new 53' to the Atlanta 041 last year. Maybe it's easier to regulate the trailer pool using other carriers to move new trailers. That's about the only advantage I can currently think of seeing as Estes is nationally syndicated.
