So, we have a Starbucks that wants us to lug the paper goods down a stairway (15 stairs) to a basement store room. I've been told by a previous TM and dispatcher that saias company policy is NO pickups or deliveries that involve staircases. Is this true? Or just thier opinions?

If my dispatcher and TM told me not to do it, you can bet your ass I wouldn't question it. Stack the stuff at the top of the stairs and make them haul it in themselves. Screw Starbucks anyway.

Tread lightly. Starbucks puts a lot of money in the pocket of your company. Last time I checked, there was no stair policy. Best bet is to get confirmation from TM and RM.

ABF once had a coffee company that we had to deliver and it was one of the worst deliveries in my memory. The size, shape and weight of the boxes was such that they weren't even able to moved efficiently with a hand truck. And we didn't even have to do stairs with them. I was never in a hurry to get that one done, I didn't bid on it, I wouldn't have and didn't care if it took all day.

Working sux, but we have to do it. Enjoy it, for many can not. Wal-Mart and Starbucks sux, but they are there for your enjoyment whether you like'em or not.
Buying Starbucks coffee is a lot like taking your bank loan officer to Starbucks & he has you sign on the dotted line. 3 to 5 bucks for a cup of joe. People must live in mud huts so they can afford their coffee. Each to his own. von.
