Holland | New account coming on board.

Indy will be getting the amazon biz. Probably a wise decision. Indy doesn't have near the labor and manpower problems as Memphis.

It is palletized freight going to distribution centers. No home deliveries.
But when we pick it up from the local Furniture warehouse it's all on the floor & we have to fingerprint each box at night for outbound loads ,so more O.T. costs ??? Kinda funny with the shortage of Driver's & Manager's & Supervisor's you would think they would just go after pallet freight and figure out how to MOVE the freight they already have ??????????????????????

That is no fun....we can not complain and rant and cry like a bunch of school girls if it is palletized to a distribution warehouse! Way to ruin a good thread! Oh well I am sure there is something else to complain about....we are Teamsters you know!

Yes you would but the new breed doesnt think like that
the new breed, coming from chief customer officer, Justin hall, yrc describes itself as a technology company, with a ltl network. think that could be why non of these operating freight companys under the yrcw banner can pull there head out of there ass and deliver freight anymore??

No hand freight. All skids. No home deliveries.
From Amazon? Now that is really special. Not that I believe it or anything. I pulled out of 5 Amazon Warehouses 5 days a week out of the Indy area. And I can promise you or bet the bank. There is no such thing as 'No touch Amazon Freight'. Their type of freight Mandates labor will touch it. Pick up a 53' trailer every day @ 4 pm. Took 2 people about 3 hours to break 65 bills & load it on outbound trailers. And some of this freight was 300lb treadmills, generators, furniture, canoes, & on & on. If UPS doesn't haul it because of weight or size restrictions, you can bet the company that moves Amazon freight will have a LOT of touch labor to be able to collect on their freight bill. von.

Correct , at our barn we pick up from a Furniture warehouse that puts all loose boxes on floor ,then we have to sort it at night and send it out , Amazon sucks and Why haul crap freight when we can't move the good freight we got now ??????????

Grand Rapids has been picking up Herman Miller for years. Whats your point? Other than you are afraid of work

We haul inbound to Amazon not outbound

And those giant hot water heaters that come in from Grand Rapids always broken. Grand Rapids loads direct to us and can't even cross dock at GR without damaging the freight. I know what the problem is... Grand Rapids needs an even newer terminal and even newer forklifts. That will fix the problem!

Same type of freight, different name on the side of the door. Nothing has changed since I retired. ABF Indy lost the outbound freight in Indy due to price, supplying empties, & not showing up on time for the 4pm switch. Service is the key for the Amazon account. And it is very labor intensive. von.

Point is that when we can't move the good pallet freight we already have ,WHY would you go after time consuming hand freight ? that's the point .
