Like they would ever say anything to the contrary. The next step in the progression is "Philadelphia is going to be bigger than Houston."Hr was at cmb this week...and he said they are adding people already...they are burried

Good maybe in due time it will be a trickle down effect and add runs throughout terminalsThe new terminals did about DOUBLE the amount of freight that was expected in the first week alone. They are buried and are begging for help. This last week we flew 4 guys out of Chicago and 3 out of Grayslake to help out. HR said they want to add another 30-40 drivers ASAP.
I'm not sure why this wasn't anticipated. The Northeast is the biggest freight corridor in the country.

Good deal, maybe they can focus more on hauling freightThe new terminals did about DOUBLE the amount of freight that was expected in the first week alone. They are buried and are begging for help. Have to agreeIf this is the case then it's not good. That will mean service failures and that's no way to start out in a new area. Once you establish a bad reputation it's hard to break away from that perception. Customers will tolerate it to a point. But it better be fixed quickly or the customers will start dropping like flys and Rick will be looking right at HR. A lack of professional qualified drivers doesn't help but heads will roll if the problem isn't fixed quickly.
Oh it will. If they expand as fast as they plan to, they will have all kinds of freight going in and out of the Northeast in no time. Newark is in a temporary barn right now, and will be moving into the old FedEx terminal as soon as it's vacated, so that will be a big improvement. Also the addition of the Baltimore terminal in a few months will add a crap ton of freight into the system.
According to the meeting we had a couple days ago, they are already in the planning stages for Maryland and West Virginia as well.
What about the A. Duie Pyle terminal in East Brunswick that will be vacant soon? Some rumors about that. I did 5 years with Saia in Memphis. If XPO in East Brunswick votes union, ai believe I will be inquiring at Saia again if they indeed are in East Brunswick. The Teamsters will not get a dime from me.The terminal FedEx is supposed to move out of in Newark will not be for quite some time. They are supposed to be building a break in N. Arlington NJ but they have not even compacted the dirt. The Newark location is on Delancy street, old FedEx National,Watkins, Viking, Carolina and Finally Brown Frieght( they built it ). It's a hundre doors with a good shop. There is next no yard though and the doors on the north side can only handle pups.
That terminal is a rental for us the last one we will lease, we're out of there in June. It is a dump located across from the dump! What about the A. Atlanta does...No way Buck, everyone one knows that no terminal comes close to D-FW and Houston.
